I'm not trying to defend the masses from New Orleans who did nothing but wait around for their handout, but some of these comments are so ignorant and hostile I had to reply. <br> <br> Not everyone in Nola is a bum. Many of us left the city that we call home, watched it be destroyed via live news, then came back and tried to rebuild. One commenter was talking about how disgraceful it was to be living in a fema trailer 6 months after a natural disaster, which makes me think that he has never owned a house and has no idea how much time and effort it takes to rebuild. Even my friend who OWNS a construction company took 6 months to rebuild. <br> <br> A group of volunteers from my church and several others in the area left last week to help shore up the river.<br> <br> By the time this is over many Americans are going to lose everything that they have. I hope that none of you ever have to experience something like this, but until you have, please stfu.
