Apparently you haven't worked with too many of these "Well Educated" foreigners.<br> <br> Are there some? Certainly just as some in America seem to be able to educate themselves despite the educational system. On average however they are no better educated than Americans. Yes, they do better on standardized tests but then no employer has ever asked me to take a standardized test a part of my job (and only once was I asked to take a test, the Wonderlic, as part of the interview process).<br> <br> Simply put, their "better education" does not translate once you leave the ivy covered walls of academia, then there is the cultural factor. This has nothing to do with Education per se but there is a reason why the greatest creative minds in the world are almost all American. Our culture actually tolerates and rewards individuality and creative thought rather than preaching conformity and group identity.<br> <br> The down side of course is our educational system is doing it's best to eliminate that from our kids.
