Damifino, let's accept your point that newspapers have a point of view on every single issue they cover. OK, now suppose your local newspaper disappears. What will your new *comprehensive* source be for what is going on in your community? And, besides, if your newspaper has a bit of a slant, so what . . .apparently you are smart enough to figure that out, process the information through your own lens, and judge the situation independently.

Mr. Ecker - "The internet is greater source for such information." Well, where does most of the raw content come from on almost all Internet news sites? Whether you prefer the likes of Townhall, The Huffington Post, Daily KOs, or Drudge, such sites are predominantly commentary based on stories brought forth by newspaper reporters . . . or when they do post news stories, they are links to newspaper stories.
The thing most of you who are dancing on the grave of newspapers are missing is where will the original reporting of events originate in a newspaperless world, especially at the local level? Who are the fact gatherers? A chaotic unorganized "blogosphere"?
