JamesF: In response to you first question, there isn't one. We aren't worried that the planet will be warmer, we're worried that it's getting warmer very quickly. It's the journey here that's important, not the destination.

To you second question: the planet's temperature has never remained steady for any extended period of time.

TN Guy: Your links are either irrelevant or misleading (or both). Your claims about climate models would be remarkable if they were applicable, but you've provided no evidence that that might be the case.

Alfred: I'm personally doing what any responsible person does; I walk, carpool, or take public transportation when possible. I drive the most fuel efficient car I can afford, I save energy wherever I can, and my home is run off of hydroelectric power. All of that, however, I do mostly because it makes good financial sense, not because I think it will have a significant impact on climate change. Global warming isn't going to be fixed by a few people changing their light bulbs and taking cold showers, it's going to require government cooperation an on international scale. Therefore the most important thing I do, and the most important thing for anyone to do, is to cast my vote for candidates I believe are going to work towards solving the problem.
