Alan, so this debate has become one of physics verses historical data? I am not sure that we can impact nature in such a manner as has been indicated by Global Warming theorists. However, the road toward alternative energy sources is not a bad idea from a personal economic standpoint for many Americans. I would love to live off the grid as much as possible, although I am not ready sacrifice as far as some advocates have encouraged (such as compost toilets). It makes perfect sense that affordable energy saving efforts be encouraged just from a resources standpoint, since few can argue that we only have a limited amount of fuel fossil resources, land waste space, etc. However, I do see the concept of “carbon offsets” being more a feel good profit scheme more than a solution to anyone’s problems.
