I read PEBO has promised to accomplish this in 5 years. It's obvious that he has NEVER been involved with hospitals, physician offices, and clinic if he thinks that is even a miniscule possibility. Most organizations use different systems and even different EHR (electronic health record) systems that do not communicate with one another. Now, many hospitals DO keep records on computers, but those computers don't talk to each other outside of the hospital system.<br> <br> My authority? I've worked as a medical documentation specialist for more than 30 years, am a certified medical transcriptionist, and currently am a quality assurance mentor for newly hired employees at my MTSO (medical transcription service organization) which does NOT outsource its work overseas.<br> <br> FIVE YEARS? Absurd and impossible, not to mention unaffordable by most smaller clinics and physician offices.<br> <br> Thanks, Neal, for being one of the voices of Truth.
