If GM and the rest go bankrupt, maybe instead of GM, we will have Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac and Cadillac. Each of these companies would be competition instead of other versions of the same company. This would force each company to compete with each other. Better competition, better cars. It was not until we had imports killing our industry that Detroit started making decent cars. As long as they think they do not have to compete, they will not become efficient.
