Brian put “An excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves”<br> The question: who or what is the determining factor as to what someone needs or deserves? No one “needs” to have a computer, and no one “needs” to have indoor plumbing, humans have survived for thousands of years without these comforts of life, so are people greedy for having these conveniences? In some people’s eyes it is yes, most logically thinking people see it as progress. All people need is food, water, heat and enough shelter to cover them to survive, is anything beyond that considered greedy? In the Soviet Union, it was damn close to that. The liberal mind isn’t far off, that of course, is not the case if your part of the rich liberal party, than it’s just fine. <br> Christian here is some food for thought: to think is hard, to follow is easy- To earn in hard, to take is easy- to achieve is hard, to take handouts is easy. I’m really not surprised you voted democrat, what do the democrats stand for? To put in basic terms: to take from the achievers (by force), to punish ambition, determination, hard/smart work ethics, and to “give” to the underachievers, which rewards the lazy, uneducated, and people who make bad decisions which puts them in low income earners. The one thing I find amazing is that the people who live on welfare have a better lifestyle than the average European, and yes, I’ve lived in Europe and seen it firsthand (Germany 1993-1996 and UK 1999-2001)
