Where do you think all those loopholes came from in the first place? The folks taking advantage of them don't just make them up. They are provided by the IRS. I don't blame anyone for taking all the loophole deductions they can. Your gripe shouldn't be with people making more money than you make. Your gripe should be with our ridiculously intricate and archaic tax code. Besides, those "evil rich S.O.B.'s" do pay their fair share of taxed. In fact, if they didn't and we had to rely only on the lower income earners taxes, we would become a third world nation in a matter of hours. Do you work, Joy? If you do, chances are you owe your job and your income to someone making a considerably higher income. Your daughter does as well. More than likely she entered her career because she could make a good salary by dealing with wealthy people. If she knew she had to rely on less-than-wealthy clients for her livelihood, she very well may have pursued a different line of work. Don't resent people for playing by the rules (or as you would probably say, taking advantage of the rules). If you don't like the rules, get off your duff and do something to change them. The Fair Tax would end all this "fair share" nonsense. Or at least it should. We'll always have "Joys" of the world whining about something!
