Ah, this is an oldie but a goodie. Tell me that business at 1:37 isn't disturbing. Maybe our resident Japanese translator can tell us it's completely innocent. Please?
Here's the part of the Nuze where we exploit staff members for entertainment value. CSPAN was in here filming the show one day and Cristina decided to share a special talent. Naturally, a listener posted it on YouTube.
Last week I highlighted the liberal ad on healthcare for MoveOn.org. It included all sorts of Hollywood celebrities who sarcastically stuck up for the poor insurance companies who are making millions of dollars in profit while patients die (that was a quick summary). Well, Andrew Breitbart's Big Government website has done a parody of that PSA ... and it is worth a listen.
A lot of folks are calling this the next great battle over the First Amendment. Here's the story. A man by the name of Robert J. Stevens is a film producer. One of his films he produced was about dog fighting. So he shot some video of dog fights taking place, produced the video and sold some tapes.
Then Stevens was sentenced to 37-months in prison in violation of a federal law banning the trafficking of "depictions of animal cruelty." The issue at stake is whether the courts should consider dogfighting videos to be "too vile" to be protected under the First Amendment. The Supreme Court will hear his case tomorrow.
Have you seen this video yet? This is a video of some community organizing group in Chicago called the Gamaliel Foundation. This is the kind of idol worship we have come to expect ... people who think that Barack Obama can truly solve all of their problems.
Can any of you understand how little I care that the F-bomb was dropped on SNL this weekend? Can we just get over it? First of all, the kids were in bed. Secondly, they hear this word every single F___ing day at school anyway.
Oh yeah, there's a bad word in this clip if you haven't figured that out yet. You have been warned.
Andrew Klavan's latest video explores the one group in the American melting pot that has consistently underperformed in terms of productivity, intelligence and moral behavior ...
It's Friday, right? We've got to give you something fun to balance out the serious stuff, right? We put it in yesterday's Blast email newsletter, but I know not everyone gets it.
So there I was watching Wolf Blitzer on CNN yesterday afternoon. Before a break we get the tremendously exciting news that "Michael Moore is in the situation room." The Blitzer explains to the viewers that "(Moore) is going to explain why he thinks that US capitalism is nothing but a Ponzi scheme."
How wonderful. CNN and Wolf Blitzer have time to devote to fat slob Michael Moore so he can explain his anti-capitalist views. But, has CNN ever had the time to devote to a spokesman from Americans for Fair Taxation? How about "Congressman John Linder is in the situation room. He is going to explain how we can get rid of the income tax and workers can keep 100% of what they earn."
OK .. you gotta see this one. A Cleveland TV station is following reports of a black bear in local neighborhoods ... but they can't find a bear to video. Soooo.......
You know the story by now. Some independent filmmaker and a 20-year-old flatbelly walk into an ACORN office in Baltimore. They're there for some tax help. ACORN, you see, will help people with tax forms ...for a fee. He tells the ACORN workers that he's a pimp and the girl is his prostitute. They need help in reporting her income. The ACORN workers don't bat an eye ... they suggest that she should report here income as a performance artist. Then it gets good. They tell the ACORN staffers that they're bringing in some "very young" girls from El Salvador and the girls will be turning tricks for them. Now understand what we're talking about here .. slavery. These young teens will be held and forced to work as teen hookers for this guy. What did the ACORN workers do? They offered some advice to the "pimp" and his "prostitute" on how to hide these girls and get some tax write-offs for their care.
This is ACORN folks. These are the people who are under investigation throughout the country for voter fraud. These are the people who nurtured our President as he community activated his way to the White House. These people are crooks. Their very reason for being is to destroy the fabric of our country in order to prepare us to be a nation of government.
What did ACORN have to say when the video surfaced? They called it "gotcha journalism." What in the hell does that mean? I guess it means that a journalist checks out an organization that is receiving boatloads of public funds to see what they'll do if presented with a clear-cut plan for sex slavery and child exploitation. Then the journalist finds that the organization seems willing to actually help the bad guys get away with their scheme! Then the journalist spreads the word ... and this is "gotcha journalism?" Well then I guess you can say that I love "gotcha journalism."
Oh ... and ACORN fired the two workers that were involved in this mess. But don't expect anything to change here. It will be ACORN business as usual. And prosecution? Are you kidding? Do you think that the federal government would even consider prosecution for aiding and abetting? Are you forgetting who's in the White House and who is running Justice?
Yup .... Another video for you. This is just priceless. You gotta love YouTube. I can see why someone paid a whole pantload of money to buy this site. Now .. this is insensitive. Oh yeah ... deliciously insensitive. And I'm almost certainly going to catch hell for posting a link to this video. Fine. I'll gladly take the heat. I'm preparing these program notes on Thursday night .. Frankly I'll be surprised if YouTube hasn't been seized by the federal government before you have a chance to click on this link. The title is "Hitler Rants About Obama Healthcare and Right Wingers. Make sure you aren't being watched ... and then click play. You might want to go relieve yourself first. Don't want any accidents you know.
This is so completely lame. Just another indication of how stupid the politicians in Washington think you are. I'm talking about the White House response to those video clips that evil, mean, racist, bigoted, ugly, hairless (speak for yourself, Boortz) radio talk show hosts have been playing on the air.
OK ... definition first. We have to be clear on the definition of the term "single payer." This means that there's one entity that writes the checks for all health care services. Prescription drugs, doctor visits, hospital stays ... one person writes the checks. Now of course that one person will be the government. Now I suppose you could have a situation where that one person would be one insurance company ... but it would be an insurance company selected by the government and, of course, controlled by the government. Hopefully you can see if the "single payer" is the government, then the government decides what gets paid for and what does not. This means the government gets to determine the extent of your access to health care, prescription drugs, etc. "Single payer" sounds innocuous enough, but it is merely a euphemism for "government."
Now the current debate is whether or not Obama and the looters are taking us to a single payer plan .. a plan where government makes all the decisions as to who gets paid how much for what medical-related service. Those video clips you heard on the show earlier this week were pretty plain. We had Obama speaking to the AFL-CIO in 2003 saying "Single payer health care plan - universal health care -- that is what I would like to see." He also says "I happen to be a proponent of a single payer health care plan." He follows up with "but first we gotta take back the White House, we gotta take back the Senate, and we gotta take back the House of Representatives." The language is pretty clear. There's no "taking out of context" stuff here. Listen to the clip and see for yourself. We also played clips from such luminaries as Slobbering Barney Frank making it absolutely clear that single payer - government payer - government control is what we are after here. Remember .. if all payments for health care come from the government ... the single payer ... where are the private health insurance companies? Gone! That's where.
So .. the people don't like what they're hearing, and the White House reacts. They pull out ABC retread Linda Douglass ... now in charge of White House propaganda for health care ... to do a little three-minute video trying to convince us that Barack Obama is not for a single payer plan. He's actually in favor of health insurance reform! You can watch Linda Douglass' White House video here or right below. She plays a couple of clips - recent clips - from Obama where he promises that you can keep your health insurance if you like it. Nowhere does she address Obama's previous dedication to a single payer plan. Nowhere does she mention that once there is any change, no matter how minute, in your private plan you must drop that plan and head to the government plan. This is a lady who has sold her soul to the cause of socialized medicine. Pretty much what you would expect from a network news hack.
This is kind of related to the health care/insurance discussion, right? Think of this next time you're in a public place. You might never leave the house again.
The Congress is on a little recess right now, which means that many of them are back home in their districts. Many Democrats have one goal in mind: convince their constituents that they need government-run healthcare. Oh wait, I'm sorry .. that's no longer the Democrat talking point. (Someone slap me.) I meant to say that we need to reform the health insurance industry. It's all about health insurance now because Obama's behavioral scientists have convinced him that is the insurance companies the people hate, not their health care. You gotta go with the flow when you're trying to seize almost 20% of the American economy. Anyway, a lot of Democrats have scheduled Townhall meetings with constituents to talk about these health insurance reforms. So far some of the meetings aren't going all that well.
Not sure if you heard what happened to Arlen Spector and Kathleen Sebelius over the weekend. They met a not-so-happy crowd at a townhall meeting in Philadelphia. This wasn't the best PR for the Democrat cause. So now Senator Dick Durbin wants to make sure that other Democrats aren't "sucker punched" like Specter and Sebelius were at their townhall. He blames any outrage at these meetings on interest groups that are funded by the big, bad, evil insurance industry. He says, "I hope my colleagues won't fall for a sucker punch like this ... These health insurance companies and people like them are trying to load these town meetings for visual impact on television."
There you go! You couldn't possibly be upset about the government's plan to take over your health care. If you're at a Townhall meeting and you aren't looking forward to depending on the federal government for your health care .. you're a stooge for the evil insurance companies.
Listen to that language: these insurance companies "and people like them." Hey, Dick .. have you ever considered the fact that there really are people out there who value a free market system over your government option? That idea hasn't crossed your mind, has it? Nope. Because to a Democrat, they can't even imagine what it would be like to be in love with government. They can't fathom the idea that people want to rely on themselves for healthcare, rather than turn to the government.
Yesterday I compared the Democrat's use of the insurance companies as a boogieman to the way Hitler demonized the Jews. Sounding more and more familiar, isn't it?
The location is Santa Cruz, California. The event is a meeting of the city council. The format is, apparently, citizen comments. The citizens of Santa Cruz get to walk up to the podium during a city council meeting and have their say. So ... the crowd is hushed. The council members are in their places, pencils in hand, ready to take notes. And there ... approaching the podium ... is a young brunette; probably in her teens. She clears her throat, looks at the members of the city council ---- and then proceeds to validate pretty much every evil thing I've ever said about government education.
My Lord! Is this woman gainfully employed? Notice, please, that she said food is free. That would explain her appearance. DANGER! Your IQ will drop 40 points just watching this idiot.
No, I did not watch it. Partly because I am lazy -- but mainly because I am going to do my own version of the press conference during the show today and I didn't want to hear any of the questions. No doubt I once again will outshine PrezBO when it comes to answering these questions ... and that would be because my answers will be straight; no BS. Tell what's really going on and let the chips fall where they may. If you want to hear my version, tune in today at 11AM EST for another infamous Boortz Press Conference, then we'll replay it during the Information Overload Hour.
I did, however, happen to catch some of the prepared remarks from Barack Obama. I just love how the AP describes it: "President Barack Obama sought Wednesday to cast the intensifying health care debate in terms that matter to ordinary people, promising to offer more savings, security and treatment to millions." Oh there you go ... using the word "security." We'll give Obama credit for that. He knows that the word "security" is much more important to the majority of Americans than the word "freedom." That would be why Hillary's attempted takeover of health care in 1993 was called the "Health Security Act." Much of governance today revolves around finding the right trigger word that resonates with the government-educated dumb masses. Get the right trigger word; like "change" for instance, and you can sell crap in a bag to most people.
If you're a bit more advanced in your ability to engage in rational thought - a disappearing trait - you will understand that Obama really gives a flying Krispy Kreme about the healthcare of "ordinary people." What Barack Obama wants to do is promise people "security" so that they will buy his takeover of almost 20% of our econmy and, thereby, become even more dependent on government. That's what this debate is about .. not about healthcare!
But back to the prepared remarks .. Obama wanted to remind Americans that "This debate is not a game." Pretty clever. He says, "This debate is not a game for these Americans, and they cannot afford to wait for reform any longer .. They are looking to us for leadership. And we must not let them down." Looks like PrezBO is consulting his team of behavioral scientists again. Obama is trying to paint a picture that he and the Democrats are the only ones who are taking things seriously in Washington. His opponents aren't really serious, they're just playing games. They're just screwing with him because they lost, and the people need to realize this or our country is doomed. For months now Barack Obama has made a point of telling the government-educated dumb-masses that the fate of our economic future is tied to healthcare reform. Not a bad tactic, actually. He knows that not many people are really feeling the pain of a broken system of health care, but the pain of our economic downtown has been spread pretty widely. So .... It's simple! Tie his takeover of health care to the economy, and the people will get on board!
Barack Obama and the Democrats keep reminding us that the healthcare industry comprises about 16% to 18% of our economy. Question .. is this necessarily a bad thing? David Gratzer, a physician and senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, says that regulation is in fact our biggest problem with healthcare. Here's a peak:
Take two very different states: Wisconsin and New York. In Wisconsin, a family can buy a health-insurance plan for as little as $3,000 a year. The price for a basic family plan in the Empire State: $12,000.
The stark difference has nothing to do with each state's health sector as a share of its economy (14.8 percent in Wisconsin as of 2004, the most recent year for which data are available, and 13.9 percent in New York). Rather, the difference has to do with how each state's insurance pools are regulated.
In New York State, politicians have tried to run the health-insurance system from Albany, forcing insurers to deliver complex Cadillac plans to every subscriber for political reasons, driving up costs. Wisconsin's insurers are far freer to sell plans at prices consumers want.
The gulf in insurance-premium prices among American states is a sign that too much government intervention--not too little--is what's distorting prices from one market to the next.
So.... Just thinking out loud here ... but what if the people who live in New York were allowed to buy their health insurance from a company in Wisconsin? Do you think the competitive pressures from the Wisconsin insurers just might drive the cost of insurance in New York down? Now that's a free market solution .. and if there's anything missing from the Democrat side of this health care debate, it's free market solutions. By now you should know why. This isn't about delivering health care. This isn't about making health insurance more affordable. This is about making people dependent on government for their health care. You don't do that by making it easier for them to buy their health insurance in the free marketplace.
Let me know if the lamestream media covered any these little goodies we are starting to find in the 1,000+ page healthcare bill. For example, here's an exchange between Congressman Paul Ryan and House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee Staff Director Cybele Bjorklund. Just watch it folks ... and then tell me that the Democrats aren't trying to pull a fast one on you.
In case you don't know, Brinks security is now Broadview security. I saw their latest ad on television this morning. You have some guy stalking a winsome young mother and her daughter. Finally he tries to break into her home. The security alarm goes off and Broadview saves the day. As usual - as is the case in every single television ad ever put on television by Brinks - the perp is white. In the wonderful world of Brinks/Broadview only white guys try to break into houses to rob and rape. Political correctness to the extreme.
The group's name is Perpetuum Jazzile. It's a choir. Now before you leave this 'puter you watch this video and see how this incredible ensemble handles the Toto tune "Africa." You are going to be amazed. Then you're going to share it with your friends. Then you're going to send me love letters for sharing this with you. Kim Kommando found this one. She's hot. In case you're wondering, Perpetuum Jazzile is a Slovenian choir. You probably already knew that one already. Here's their website.
The movie Idiocracy comes up from time to time in the comments. I bet a bunch of you have not seen it. Here's a clip that you might enjoy. Warning: there are probably a few bad words in it. If you do decide to watch the whole movie, we are not responsible for the loss of IQ points you will suffer.
Why did this come up on the show this morning? Who knows? But Belinda had not heard of psychic surgery, so here's a little video. Is there anything that isn't on YouTube?
If you subscibe to the Boortz Blast email newsletter, you got this in your email last week. We're going to be nice and share it with those of you that don't want emails from us anyway.
I think it's time for a little bit of fun. Someone has compiled their idea of the 100 best movie lines. What do you think? Any that you would include that didn't make this clip? Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see "Soylent Green is people!"
I have it on good authority that those Brinks home alarm systems will absolutely not work unless it's a white guy trying to break into your home. Never in the history of Brinks advertising on television has anyone other than a white guy been shown breaking into a home. If you live in an area where someone not white might actually break into your home you might want to look into another alarm system.
