President
Bush will be leaving the White House as the most unpopular president in
history, according
to the latest polls from CBS News and the New York Times. His final approval rating will be just
22%. The previous record was Harry
Truman with a 32% approval rating upon leaving office. So this makes Bush's rating the lowest for an
outgoing president in the history of tracking presidential approval
ratings. Now, this should tell you a
little something. Only 6% of Democrats
approve of President Bush, compared to 57% of Republicans. That's a mighty large partisan gap.
Again,
history will be kind to Bush once people recognize and appreciate the fact that
he has kept our country from sustaining another terrorist attack .....
