There was some testimony yesterday before congress about Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme. During that testimony some nimrod named Karpolis called Madoff's deal "the largest Ponzi scheme in history." Sorry ... it is NOT the largest Ponzi scheme in history. That title goes to Social Security. The big difference here is that while it is illegal for a private citizen to operate a Ponzi scheme .. it's quite OK for the government.

Bernie Madhoff? Yeah .. the character running the giant Ponzi scheme wherein people lost billions of dollars? Well guess what. Some of the Madhoff investors are suggesting that they should be eligible for a taxpayer-funded government bailout. Sorry .. but like hell! Remember the adage "Use wisely your power of choice." They didn't. Their loss.
