How are your preparing for life under nationalized healthcare? It is coming quicker than you think, folks. I'm talking within the first 100 days of a Barack Obama administration ... you will get exactly what you voted for. Obama has tapped former Senator Tom Daschle to be his Secretary of Health and Human Services. Beyond that, Daschle will also serve as the White House "health czar." He will be the key in healthcare legislation.
The announcement couldn't come at a more perfect time. Last week, Senator Max Baucus introduced his plan for healthcare reform - similar to Obama's but making it illegal for you to be without health insurance. Somewhere in the Constitution Baucus has found a clause which states that the Imperial Federal Government can order citizens to buy things. If this is OK for health insurance, why not just solve this whole automobile mess right now by requiring every citizen to buy a Ford, Chevy or Chrysler?
On Monday we have Ted Kennedy coming back to Washington and vowing to make healthcare legislation his priority. On Tuesday Kennedy asked Hillary Clinton to be a key player in drafting healthcare legislation. Yeah .. that really worked out for us before, didn't it? And yesterday we have a meeting of the minds in Washington to begin drawing up official plans. Not to mention Daschle's selection.
Max Baucus says, "I think we have to move very quickly ... We have to seize the opportunity, build momentum, because it's difficult to anticipate what else is going to come up next year." I'll tell you what is coming next year, a country that is in no way ready to pay for the costs of a government healthcare system. Remember that Obama's healthcare plan is estimated to cost $75 billion in the first year alone.
There is one industry that has jumped on the bandwagon. The health insurance industry. They say they will support a requirement to accept all customers, despite any pre-existing medical conditions, if lawmakers mandate that everyone buy healthcare coverage. Everyone buys into the system. Prices go up because health insurance is forced to cover chronic medical conditions. Government sets price limits on the insurance industry because it would be unfair to charge more. The evil rich are denied any tax breaks for medical coverage, perhaps even taxed, in order to pay for the medical coverage of the many. Do you see how this is working out, folks?
Just remember this ... all of this ... all of this nationalized health care talk ... is about one thing. Gaining more control over you. Nothing more. When politicians control your health care they have you by the short hairs. Get the picture?
