A lot of talk has happened over this cluster-fornication in NY 23. The fallout from the race continues, and as it persists, things are looking uglier for Republicans. RINO Senator Lindsey Graham is warning that conservatives are going to destroy the Republican Party if they try to drive away moderate candidates. He says, "To those people who are pursuing purity, you'll become a club not a party ... Those people who are trying to embrace conservatism in a thoughtful way that fits the region and the state and the district are going to do well. Conservativism is an asset. Blind ideology is not." Perhaps Graham was addressing the abortocentrists in the party. If not, he should have been.

Let me remind you that this idea of party purity goes both ways. MoveOn.org is on an email campaign to defeat any Democrat who is not 100% in support of Obamacare. Now, there are a lot of you who will argue that MoveOn.org does not represent the vast majority of the Democrat Party. This "progressive" wing of the Democrat Party is always in jeopardy of splitting voters. Let's hope the looters pursue the purity principle while conservatives ease up a bit. Might even save the Republic.

CNN 826,000 viewers

Hey ... CNN! How's that ban on radio talk show hosts as guests working out for you? Fourth place! You folks are HOT! Oh ... and is it any wonder that the ACORN Administration absolutely HATES Fox News? Seems the people in this country don't share that hatred.

Now let's see ... where did The Community Organizer spend most of his weekend? Oh yeah ... I seem to remember that he spent much of the weekend in New Jersey to campaign for Governor John Corzine. Joe Biden went there too. All for naught. Chris Christie won ... a Republican winning in a heavily Democrat State ... and winning in the face of intense campaigning by Obama.

Bob McDonnell, the Republican candidate for governor of Virginia won big ... that would be by 18%.

The White House, predictably, is saying that neither of these races is a reflection on the job Barack Obama has been doing. That's the exact same thing The White House would say if the president were a Republican and Democrats had taken two Governorships from Republicans. We're also told that Obama wasn't watching election returns last night; he was watching basketball. Imagine that.

As for the 23rd District of New York? That's where the liberal Republican candidate Dede Scuzzywhatsit withdrew from the race and threw her support to the Democrat. I'm still trying to figure that one out. One thing seems certain ... New York needs to do something about their Republican leadership .. and this Michael Steele thing isn't working out all that well either.

Yeah ... that's when the voters elected Barack Obama. If you've been scanning the Internet you've seen no shortage of news stories about disappointed - and sometimes disgusted - voters who actually thought they were voting for some type of wonderful change in Washington.

I think the retrospective on Obama's first year should really be saved until the one-year mark from his coronation, not the election. I will say this ... Obama has been far worse than I would have ever imagined. Any promises he made about transparency and bipartisanship in Washington have turned out to be a complete joke. He has shown absolutely no understanding of the role of capitalism and our free markets in the creation of our amazing standard of living in America. He has treated the Constitution as a nuisance rather than a blueprint for governance.

For many years I've been talking about politicians who believe that America's greatness comes from government. Obama is the embodiment of that principal.

Others have said this .. but Obama is completely in over his head. This is a job he was simply not prepared to handle. He became president not on the basis of accomplishment, but on the basis of charisma and a well-orchestrated campaign. His election was a crowning achievement of our system of government education. He certainly has the potential of destroying this country as we know it. The ballot box still works ... for now. I truly believe that 2010 may be the last chance we have to save our Republic from the likes of Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Rangel, Waxman, Hoyer and the rest of the statist crowd.

ATLANTA MAYOR'S RACE

It's come down to a runoff between Kasim Reed and Mary Norwood. Reed is black. Norwood is white. So ... we have a racially-charged runoff coming up. I'm guessing Reed will be the next Atlanta Mayor. Why? Because votes will be cast on racial lines, and there are more black than white voters in Atlanta. Mary Norwood has made some statements recently indicating how horrible she thinks Republicans are ... so I can't see Republicans making any real effort to vote in the runoff. In my view the big difference between the two is that Reed voted for the recent massive property tax increase and Norwood voted against it.

Let's also make this point. Blacks who vote for the black candidate on the basis of race are conscientious voters. Whites who vote for the white candidate on the basis of race are --- racists.

After the looters make their nationalized medicine a reality we are, of course, going to see the quality of care decline while the costs skyrocket. There is going to be a big push to reform the reform. Who knows? Maybe someone will come along and suggest some privatization. The looters, of course, will fight back ... hard. I can hear some of the lines in the radio and TV ads they'll run right now:

The Republicans want to take away your health care.

The Republicans believe that only the rich deserve health care.

Vote the Republicans, get the flu, die.

Republicans are dangerous to your health.

As your doctor if no health care is right for you

Hoping ... just hoping ... that with every day that passes just a few more Americans open their eyes to see what the real game is here. This is NOT about your healthcare. This is about CONTROLLING your health care. It is about controlling you. Nothing more.

Florida governot Charlie Crist is now on record as saying that Barack Obama will not be reelected in 2012. Hopefully he is right. Let's all remember, though, that if Obama does fail to win reelection it will be for one simple reason ... and only one. Racism. There is no possible reason on the face of the earth not to support Obama for a second term. You're a racist. Simple as that. An Obama defeat in 2012 will be all the proof the world knows to know that America truly is a racist nation. Never mind that he was elected in 2008. We just didn't realize he was black then ... right?

FREE TO SPEND WHERE YOU CHOOSE

The Supreme Court is hearing an interesting case at the moment over campaign finance laws. Now ... if you are a regular listener to the Neal Boortz Show, you will know that I am not a fan of campaign finance reform. McCain-Feingold. When in doubt, I default to freedom. And in this case, I am talking about the freedom to contribute whatever you choose to whomever you choose.

The case currently being heard are concerns a political film, "Hillary: The Movie." The movie was produced by Citizens United, a non-profit group, but the funds to produce the movie were donated by corporations. Let's face it, the movie wasn't kind to Hillary Clinton. Then again, she's not what you would call a kind person anyway. Anyway ... the movie was blocked from being aired by the Federal Election Commission because it believed to be violating campaign finance restrictions. The FEC cited that the sole purpose of the documentary was "to inform the electorate that Senator Clinton is unfit for office, that the United States would be a dangerous place in a President Hillary Clinton world and that viewers should vote against her." And the problem is??

Think about this: How many anti-Bush movies were out there during his campaigns? Remember that slug Michael Moore? Corporate money funded those films as well. Where was the FEC while Moore was spreading his venom?

The justices don't seem to be buying it. Based on the line of questioning, it seems like the justices believe laws banning corporations and unions from buying TV ads for political candidates discriminates against the first amendment rights of mom and pop businesses.

John McCain wasn't too thrilled to hear about this. He says, "The questioning shows a real disconnect, a strong disconnect between the justices and political reality ... I wish that one of the justices who were standing up for people's First Amendment rights had ever run for county sheriff. He says that the justices showed an "extreme naiveté of the influence of corporate money and soft money."

Here's some good news! Polling now shows that 57% of Americans would just as soon replace every single member of congress. If you just poll the independents our there that figure rises to 70%.

OK .. that's now. There isn't an election on the horizon. When we get closer to election time these people will start to modify their beliefs a bit. They'll think that every member of congress should be replaced except their own. And why not replace their particular representative? Simple! Because he or she brings home the bacon!

Will the American people figure out that we have a Republic to save here? Will they understand that restoring freedom and individual responsibility may well be more important than a new road or some new sidewalks in their community? We'll find out next year.

Okay, folks ... I know that the Democrats are screwing up right now and boy do I love to see this happening. Seriously .. the worse the Democrats do the better I like it. This party of big government presents a grave threat to everything that made our country great ... It's fun to see them in turmoil. But let's try to keep in mind that even with all the kicking and screaming, Americans have very short attention spans. Will the current sentiment billowing throughout the country resonate until the 2010 elections? Hardly. This healthcare debate has definitely energized people, but the ability to actually cause any change ... through the voting booth ... is still a long ways away.

That's why I am not getting too worked up over this Cook Political Report that says Democrats could lose as many as 20 seats in the House in 2010.

Charlie Cook says, "These data confirm anecdotal evidence, and our own view, that the situation this summer has slipped completely out of control for President Obama and Congressional Democrats ..."

When might I believe something like this could happen? If the Republicans would stand up and actually offer something meaningful to the debate. There answer is that they do have their own plans out there. Mebbe so. If that's the case, then get some professional PR help to get that message out. When they have something on their own that will drive people to the polls, then I will take notice.

HOW'S THIS FOR A CLOSE?

Dr. Anne Wortham is the author of "The Other Side of Racism: A Philosophical Study of Black Race Consciousness". She is Associate Professor of Sociology at Illinois State University and continuing Visiting Scholar at Stanford University 's Hoover Institution. She is a member of the American Sociological Association and the American Philosophical Association. Pretty strong credentials, don't you think?

In researching Anne Wortham I also found that she is a follower of Ayn Rand. That's why I haven't heard of her before. A black university professor who is a Rand fan?

Why bring her up? Because I've just come across a letter she wrote to her fellow Americans on November 6th of last year. I thought you might enjoy it ... so here goes:

Fellow Americans,

Please know: I am black; I grew up in the segregated South. I did not vote for Barack Obama; I wrote in Ron Paul's name as my choice for president. Most importantly, I am not race conscious. I do not require a black president to know that I am a person of worth, and that life is worth living. I do not require a black president to love the ideal of America.

I cannot join you in your celebration. I feel no elation. There is no smile on my face. I am not jumping with joy. There are no tears of triumph in my eyes. For such emotions and behavior to come from me, I would have to deny all that I know about the requirements of human flourishing and survival - all that I know about the history of the United States of America, all that I know about American race relations, and all that I know about Barack Obama as a politician. I would have to deny the nature of the "change" that Obama asserts has come to America. Most importantly, I would have to abnegate my certain understanding that you have chosen to sprint down the road to serfdom that we have been on for over a century. I would have to pretend that individual liberty has no value for the success of a human life. I would have to evade your rejection of the slender reed of capitalism on which your success and mine depend. I would have to think it somehow rational that 94 percent of the 12 million blacks in this country voted for a man because he looks like them (that blacks are permitted to play the race card), and that they were joined by self-declared "progressive" whites who voted for him because he doesn't look like them. I would have to be wipe my mind clean of all that I know about the kind of people who have advised and taught Barack Obama and will fill posts in his administration - political intellectuals like my former colleagues at the Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.

I would have to believe that "fairness" is equivalent of justice. I would have to believe that man who asks me to "go forward in a new spirit of service, in a new service of sacrifice" is speaking in my interest. I would have to accept the premise of a man that economic prosperity comes from the "bottom up," and who arrogantly believes that he can will it into existence by the use of government force. I would have to admire a man who thinks the standard of living of the masses can be improved by destroying the most productive and the generators of wealth.

Finally, Americans, I would have to erase from my consciousness the scene of 125,000 screaming, crying, cheering people in Grant Park, Chicago irrationally chanting "Yes We Can!" Finally, I would have to wipe all memory of all the times I have heard politicians, pundits, journalists, editorialists, bloggers and intellectuals declare that capitalism is dead - and no one, including especially Alan Greenspan, objected to their assumption that the particular version of the anti-capitalistic mentality that they want to replace with their own version of anti-capitalism is anything remotely equivalent to capitalism.

So you have made history, Americans. You and your children have elected a black man to the office of the president of the United States, the wounded giant of the world. The battle between John Wayne and Jane Fonda is over - and that Fonda won. Eugene McCarthy and George McGovern must be very happy men. Jimmie Carter, too. And the Kennedys have at last gotten their Kennedy look-a-like. The self-righteous welfare statists in the suburbs can feel warm moments of satisfaction for having elected a black person. So, toast yourselves: 60s countercultural radicals, 80s yuppies and 90s bourgeois bohemians. Toast yourselves, Black America. Shout your glee Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Duke, Stanford, and Berkeley. You have elected not an individual who is qualified to be president, but a black man who, like the pragmatist Franklin Roosevelt, promises to - Do Something! You now have someone who has picked up the baton of Lyndon Johnson's Great Society. But you have also foolishly traded your freedom and mine - what little there is left - for the chance to feel good. There is nothing in me that can share your happy obliviousness.

November 6, 2008

There. Couldn't have said it better myself.

The situation in Iran is not letting up. We've got people in jail, protestors being shot to death, a fraudulent election in the hands of a regime on the verge of obtaining a nuclear weapon. All of this and the best that our White House Press Secretary can come up with is the fact that Barack Obama ... the leader of the free world ... has been "moved" by the protests in Iran.

Moved? Moved? Well I'm so glad he's moved. People are fighting for their freedom, and Obama is moved. That's just so special. I'm moved that he's moved? Are you moved? Yup ... we're all moved. It's so nice to be moved on a Tuesday morning.

Iran's Guardian Council has admitted that there were some irregularities in the presidential election. Gee, ya think? It said that the number of votes collected was greater than the number of eligible voters ... we are talking about 3 million questionable votes. But Iranian authorities have ruled out the possibility of nullifying the vote.

Meanwhile, did you hear what Moonbat Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had to say about the election? You'll find this statement humorous:

"In Western countries, democracy is 100% controlled and people's role is ceremonial. But, what happened in Islamic Iran was the true manifestation of the nation's resolve and determination ... Following Iran's election, the US and British leaders became concerned about their own existence and launched a sinister effort to defend the oppressive system that they have imposed on the world ... Today, the enemies are upset because a nation has understood its capacity and is turning into a role model for the international community."

I want to know just when he hired Obama's speechwriters .... Or are they on loan.

STEPPING UP ON IRAN

President Obama finally decided to issue a statement over the weekend about the fake election and subsequent repression of protestors in Iran. Here's what the president had to say:

The Iranian government must understand that the world is watching. We mourn each and every innocent life that is lost. We call on the Iranian government to stop all violent and unjust actions against its own people. The universal rights to assembly and free speech must be respected, and the United States stands with all who seek to exercise those rights.

As I said in Cairo, suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away. The Iranian people will ultimately judge the actions of their own government. If the Iranian government seeks the respect of the international community, it must respect the dignity of its own people and govern through consent, not coercion.

Martin Luther King once said - "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." I believe that. The international community believes that. And right now, we are bearing witness to the Iranian peoples' belief in that truth, and we will continue to bear witness.

What do you think? Too little, too late? Iranian authorities have arrested 24 journalists, and at least 17 people have been killed in protest. This is really all that Obama can come up with? I never thought I'd say this, but I'm sticking with France on this one. French President Sarkozy came out with a statement a week ago about the situation. That's right .. Sarkozy didn't munch snails for a week trying to figure out what to do. He knew what was right, and voiced it immediately. He said that he "condemned the violence directed at demonstrators, the arrest of opposition members and political figures, restrictions on public liberties, freedom of expression and communication and the constraints imposed on Iranian and foreign nationals." Now we have France's Foreign Minister condemning "this brutal repression."

Not that Obama's words are going to make a difference ... but at least the world knows where the United States stands ...... sort of.

IRAN IN CHAOS

If you have been following the news for the last week, you will know that Iran held presidential elections.  Running up to Election Day, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was neck-and-neck with his challenger Mir-Hossein Mousavi.  Then when Election rolled around, Ahmadinejad apparently won the election with 62.6% of the vote compared to Mousavi's 33.7%.  Another four years of the mad mullah.

Looks like something fishy has happened here, Ahmathimgamabob had nowhere near that kind of a lead going into the voting.  The Iranian people smell an Islamic rat.  Street protesters have been demonstrating all weekend over the surprise defeat of Mousavi, who says that he has been the victim of "fraud" and "manipulation."  Iran's supreme spiritual leader, Ayatollah Khamenei says that Iranians should accept the results of the election as a "divine assessment."  (We have their "divine assessment) in a silo on a nuclear submarine in the Indian Ocean.)

Ok, is it really tough to figure out what has happened here?  The only thing that Ahmadinejad cares about is power.  In that sense he's not all that different than most of the people who serve in our own congress.  Do you think that he was actually going to let a silly little thing like a general election get in the way of that?  No way.  Not with Hugo Chavez by his side and America eagerly waiting to appease him.

Makes you appreciate the integrity of our election system, doesn't it?

Day in and day out, hundreds of emails like this are sent to the show, and day and day out hundreds of emails like this are deleted. I never see 'em. But I guess we are all just going to have to get used to these types of emails for the next four to eight years while Obama is in office. By the way, this truther didn't have the gonads to use a real email address.

Name:Andrew
Subject:Your a tool

It is so funny. We have a pretty strong case against Obama and his citizenship issue. It is grounds for impeachment at the minimum.

We might need impeachment in the end to slow down Obama's socialization of the United States. Unfortunately, it is individual Americans and not the Press that is doing the digging.

I am fine with you not wanting to talk about it, but please don't turn listeners into loons by belittling their efforts. We are all trying to save the country, not just you Neal.

Notice the misspelling of the word "your" in the subject line. Must be government educated.

Get over it folks. Obama was born in Hawaii. He's a citizen. Deal with it.

You folks in Minnesota are beyond belief. How in the hell could you possibly vote for this footstool to be your Senator? I know this guy. I've seen him in action. I know of no bigger jackass in public life. Al Franken is a world-class purified jerk. He's been on the job for two weeks, but Obama knows this economic stimulus bill is going to make or break his bid re-election. He says, "If I don't have this done in three years then there's going to be a one-term proposition." Which might explain part of the reason why Obama is so set on making sure that he gets Republican support for this economic stimulus bill ... he sees it tied to his future in office. If he can gain bi-partisan support, than this will only help his chances of gaining conservative voters in the future. It also allows him to share the blame with the Republicans when the people of this country figure out that this so-called stimulus bill was actually nothing than Democrat spending dreams and schemes brought to life under a phony title.

AL FRANKEN WANTS WHAT??

As of yesterday, funny guy Al Franken was losing in the Minnesota Senate race.  With 98% of the precincts reporting, Norm Coleman led by 316 votes.

Recognizing that defeat was near, Franken did what any sane, rational person would do .. he asked for the government to engage in a "systematic, forensic search" for 133 ballots missing in Minneapolis.  Oh and by the way, this specific precinct heavily favors the Democrats.

I'd be curious to know the final price tag of all this funny business.  How much taxpayer money will be spent doing a "systematic forensic search" for ballots that probably don't even exist!  I mean we are talking about having to interview every single person who touched or transported ballots in that district.  Anyone at the polling place, all the drivers of the vehicles that carried the ballots, each and every single employee that works in any warehouse where these ballots might have been stored.

Are you just a ready as I am to have this darn election in this history books?  Al Franken failed at talk radio .. maybe after this Senate race he can take his bitter self back to New York and write some more hilarious stuff for SNL.

TODAY IS THE DAY

It's Election Day in Georgia.  Today the people of Georgia may well decide how Obama is going to "rule" (his word) for the next  two years.  If people don't show up at the polls in Georgia today the Democrat-socialist machine could well roll on without brakes until the next congressional election.  It will allow them to enact policies that will be damaging not only for you but more importantly for your children and grandchildren.  I'm talking about policies like universal healthcare, federalizing pension plans, turning a blind eye to the failings of our social security system.

A vote for Jim Martin - who was campaigning with Ludacris yesterday - is more than the ousting of a Republican from the Senate.  It is a mandate for the liberal agenda .. at least that is how the Democrats would like to see it and that may well be the way things work out - especially if we give the left just this one more Senate seat.

Now .. the notes are short today.  I'm heading for the polls.

Check this out. Click here and take a look at this one ballot in Minnesota. Minnesota, in case you don't know, is where the Democrats are busy stealing a Senate seat. Just 150 or so votes separate the incumbent Republican Norm Coleman and ultra-leftist Democrat Al Franken. Al Franken is actually taking this one particular ballot to the courts saying that the voter was obviously voting against Norm Coleman. Again ...just look at the ballot to get a clear idea what is going on here.

Are we going to allow the Democrats to use tactics like this to get their filibuster-proof majority in the Senate? Well, that depends on the voters in Georgia. On December 2nd Georgia voters can prevent that 60-vote majority, no matter what Al Franken manages to pull off in Minnesota. The Minnesota Senate race will be determined by politicians ... the Georgia Senate runoff between Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss and Democrat Jim Martin will be decided by the voters ... and it's all going to rest on just who heads to the polls.

There is going to be much gnashing of teeth of the last roadblock - the possibility of a Republican filibuster - is removed from the path of Obama, Pelosi and Reid. There is absolutely nothing in Martin's past that indicates he would be anything other than Obama's dog washer and Reid's sock puppet in Washington.

Weeks ago I was saying that the political focus was going to be on Georgia after the general election. Finally I get something right. We need something to slow down the big-government goals of the Democrats. Georgia voters are that something.

HOW OBAMA GOT ELECTED

Now that the election is over, this report by John Ziegler is making some waves. Maybe because it exposes some of the Obamamania. Also because it shows how the lamestream media was in the tank for Barack Obama in this election. And also because it demonstrates the fruits of our government education system.

Now I really don't care what else you do today .. so long as you don't abuse any small animals .. but please watch this video. On Election Day some Obama voters were chosen by the producers of an upcoming documentary "How Obama Got Elected." These voters represented a cross-section: young and old, black and white, male and female. They were chosen based on their verbal abilities and willingness to express their feelings to a large audience. Listen to these people. I promise you, you will be entertained.

Certainly it was hard to judge the true nature of Obama supporters based on the random ones selected for this video ... So the Zogby people were commissioned to conduct a telephone poll to ask a greater number of Obama supporters the very same questions asked of the people in the video. Oh and one other thing to keep in mind. The people were given multiple choice answers to these questions. Even with multiple choices, here were some of the results.

  • 94% of Obama voters correctly identified Sarah Palin as the candidate with a pregnant teenage daughter.
  • 86% of Obama voters identified Palin as the candidate who spent $150,000 on a campaign wardrobe.
  • 86.9 % of Obama voters though that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," even though the quote actually came from Saturday Night Live.

Now for some news about the candidate they were supporting ....

  • 57.4% of Obama voters could not correctly say which party controls congress.
  • 82.6% of Obama voters could not correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot
  • 88.4% of Obama voters could not correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket
  • 56.1% of Obama voters didn't know that Obama started his political career at the home of Bill Ayers, an unrepentant terrorist.

Now you have a measure, for good or bad, of some of the voters who went to the polls on Election Day awash in Obamamania. Do some of you now think that there are people voting who shouldn't be allowed to vote? Remember, there is no constitutional right to vote in a presidential election. Shouldn't we be weeding some of these people off the voting rolls?

Also, here's an interview with John Ziegler by Nate Silver. Oh my is it full of bad words!

Less than 24 hours after his acceptance speech, Barack Obama is working on creating his White House staff. To be expected. But the rumors and whispers came to fruition ... his first act as president-elect was to ask Democrat Illinois Rep. Rahm Emanuel to be his chief of staff. And you elected this guy to be the beacon of change? Rahm Emanuel is the epitome of old-school, established Washington partisan politics. He was a top dog washer for Bill Clinton from 1993 to 1998. In 2006, you can thank Rahm Emanuel for the Democrat take-over of the Congress ... he was the Chairman of the Democrat Congressional Campaign committee. This He recognized the fact that they Republicans had blown it. And he capitalized. Big time.

Before we go anywhere, did you know that Emanuel was once the senior advisor and chief fundraiser for Chicago's Richard Daley? He was at the forefront of this corrupt, Chicago-style politics that Barack Obama refused to stand up to. I guess that paid off.

But why is Emanuel the ultimate backwards choice? Because he was part of Bill Clinton's inside circle when he was involved in all of these sex scandals. Monica Lewinsky, Gennifer Flowers, Juanita Broaderrick, Paula Jones. Do any of those ring a bell? And there was Rahm Emanuel ... standing right by his side ... working his buns off to make sure that Clinton's sexual escapades didn't become public. And it seems he didn't learn his lessons, because he knew about the sexual scandals in the race for Mark Foley's seat a few years ago, and denied, denied, denied, and the blamed it on Republicans.

To Barack Obama's credit ... the guy has deep ties to the Jewish community. Maybe this will shape his willingness to meet with Ahmadinejad who has called for the destruction of Israel. Then again, maybe not.

Let's keep watching the staffing choices. Hoping things get a bit better.

ALL EYES ON GEORGIA

Well, for better or for worse, the Boortz Show really has to be on its game the next couple of weeks ... just when I'm feeling a bit lazy. (So, what else is new?) The nation will be tuning in to see Georgians Saxby Chambliss and that anti-FairTax liar Jim Martin battle it out for the Senate. We still have one county counting its votes, but it looks like it's going to be a runoff to be held December 2nd. Yesterday CNN was reporting that Chambliss had the 50%. Finally, when it came down to it, Chambliss missed it by 0.1% ... he ended up with 49.9% when he needed to get 50% of the popular vote.

The good news is that with Alan Buckley (also an anti-FairTax candidate) out of the race, we will have to see how many of those Libertarians will defect to the Republicans versus the Democrats.

We'll see if Jim Martin has the onions to abandon this "Saxby Chambliss will add 23% to the price of everything that you buy" line and campaign on the truth. This is one of the big problems with the FairTax, it is easy to demagogue. Martin proved that in this Senate race. Let's see how many informed voters there are out there.

AND SPEAKING OF THE FAIRTAX

The Republicans are really going to be looking for some sort of an agenda to carry them into the mid-term elections in two years. Do you think the FairTax could be that agenda? I still think back to the tens of thousands of people who showed up at FairTax rallies ... and the hundreds of thousands of dedicated volunteers who still today are spreading the FairTax word. Two big obstacles: First, with the FairTax in place how would Obama have won this election? That "tax cut for 95% of Americans" line brought him victory. It was a con, but it brought him victory. With the FairTax that line would have been impossible ... since 100% of Americans wouldn't have been paying income taxes anyway. Secondly, there's the demagogue thing. Your opinions?

WHERE ARE ALL YOU SINGLE WOMEN?

All you single women out there, it seems as though your screams were heard loud and clear: "I want my mommy!" You voted in record numbers to put Democrats in the White House and Congress. Unmarried woman supported Barack Obama by a 70% to 29% margin. And this should really tell you something ... there was a 44-point difference between the voting behavior of married versus unmarried women. Married woman already had their  security ... single women were looking for it. In fact, based on the Edison/Mitofsky National Election Pool published by CNN, if it weren't for your overwhelming support of the Chosen One, John McCain would have won the women vote and the White House.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say there are two factors at play. Unmarried women didn't like Sarah Palin - maybe they were intimidated by her ability to be a woman, a mother of 5, a governor, and be able to handle a shot gun. And unmarried women are eager to suckle the government teat. They feel insecure. They don't have a husband to provide ... so the government becomes their husband. Not a bad deal, I guess. The government provides you with the safety net you would normally get from a good marriage, and you're free to mess around pretty much as much as you want! They are just begging to be the beneficiaries of government and all the mediocrity it has to offer.

NEW VOTERS

By

And there is no doubt that "new voters" turned out in this election. When they say "new voters" they are talking about people who have never voted in an election before. And of these new voters, 6 out of every 10 were under the age of 30 years old. So we are talking about the college kids and those people who have barely begun to formulate a mature thought about politics ... I know, I am going to catch hell for that ... "but not ALL college kids!"

My point is that these young voters turned out for Barack Obama in numbers close to 70% in some states. They came out to vote for their American Idol/MTV candidate. And these people are the future of this country. Maybe they will one day realize the repercussions of putting a Marxist in the White House when they try to open their own business. Maybe they'll look back and think "Gawd, how could I have been so ignorant? How could I have bought into this "change" rhetoric?" They will get what they voted for, and you can thank government schools, by the way.

I've been doing talk radio for almost 40 years. This is my 10th presidential election as a talk show host. A lot of younger listeners - the type who voted for Obama, I suspect - love to send me emails making fun of my age. The "hey old man" messages come now with regularity. Well .. tell you what. It's not my future that has been endangered by this election. I don't have to worry about the MoveOn Democrat party robbing me of my opportunity to make a good life for myself and my family. Been there, done that. Some of you younger voters might want to stop and take a moment to think about your own future though. Many of you will succumb to government paternalism and do just enough to get by ... collecting your "tax break" checks from the government and making sure that those checks never go away by keeping the Democrats in power. Some of you, though, are going to become ambitious. You're going to experience the desire to work hard, to work smart, and to go the extra mile. When you do you're going to find the government there ready to stand in your way and, if you manage to succeed, rob you of the fruits of your labor.

I have a friend who's daughter received her first paycheck a few weeks ago .. a check for one day's work as a substitute teacher. Now remember ... we're talking teacher here ... as in government schools. She earned $60 dollars for that one day's work ... but the check was for $52. She was shocked. "But dad!" she said, "They told me I was going to make sixty dollars!"

Hey, lady. You ain't seen nuthin' yet.

THE "I WANT MY MOMMY" ELECTION

By
Neal Boortz
@ November 5, 2008 3:16 PM
Permalink | TrackBacks (0)
I brought this up several months ago ... a slogan for this election. "I want my mommy." The phrase really says it all. This is not an election where the American voters were looking for someone to protect their freedoms. Instead, it was an election where people were looking for someone to take care of them. Self-sufficiency seems a bit old-fashioned right now. Why work so hard to be self-sufficient when candidates are falling all over themselves to provide the American people with womb-to-tomb or, if you will, cradle-to-grave paternalism. The voters who put Barack Obama into office bear little resemblance to the people who fought for independence 224 years ago. Colonists fighting for our independence actually left their bloody footprints along the icy roads of New York and Pennsylvania while marching to engage the British troops. Today we can't even drum of a decent plurality of voters who will vote for liberty, let alone fight for it.

This has been a "what's in it for me" vote. Are you going to give me health care? Are you going to make sure my job is guaranteed? Are you going to cover my child care costs? You aren't going to make me pay taxes, are you? How about all those evil rich people? Aren't you going to take some of their money away from them and give it to me? After all ... I work for my money, they cheated and stole for theirs. Make them pay their fair share of taxes. Me? I'm tired of paying any share.

The big question for me today is whether or not freedom, economic liberty and self-sufficiency can make a comeback in America. Right now it seems that a dismaying number of Americans think that they are owed a living; that it is the government's job to guarantee their economic security. Can we ever turn that around and return to a time when people accept the responsibility for their own lives and eschew the idea of using government as a tool of legalized plunder?

Several times in the last few day's I've mentioned the concept of "The Tipping Point." I'm using that term in the context of voting and taxpaying. Right now we are at the point where about 43% of American income earners pay absolutely NO income tax. I've been saying for years that if the Democrats ever gain absolute control in Washington we're going to see that percentage climb ... climb to over 50%. That's the tipping point. Imagine a political campaign where the majority of voters do not pay income taxes. Imagine a campaign where the majority of voters actually get a check from the government instead of writing a check to the government. Can you hear the Democrat campaign themes then? "Vote for the Republicans and they're going to make you pay income taxes."

In fact ... I've already developed the Democrat campaign themes for the next several presidential elections:

2012: "Vote for the Republicans and they're going to make you pay income taxes."

2016: "Vote for the Republicans and they're going to make you pay your own Social Security and Medicare taxes."

2020: "Vote for the Republicans and they're going to make you pay for your own health care."

2024: "Vote for the Republicans and they're going to make you pay for your own place to live."

Here we are my friends. We're at the point where virtually every voter out there understands that they can use their ballot as an instrument of plunder. For those of you who went to government schools, that means they can use their vote to take money away from other citizens. That would be the difference between a Democracy (rule of man) and a Republic (rule of law).

LETTER FROM BELINDA'S MOTHER

Hi Beebee - Glad to see you made it thru the election events.

Your comments just got me to thinking about what has just happened in this election. Well I guess it doesn't matter much now what we think. For years I have feared then day when 'there gets to be more of them than there is of us'.  I don't mean Black either ! I mean those who are so self-serving and stand with their hands out to grab off their 'rights' and freebies. It has almost happened a few times in the past but we managed to squeak by and save the country from a land-office lottery. Once we have lost control it is most likely we will never get it back - at least in my lifetime. At my age just about all they can do is annoy me - at yours they can beat you down with rules, regulations, and taxes. The new Capital gains 'change' can strip from you everything that I have worked for and saved for your future.

Already we have lost a third of the value of our savings and stocks, now if ever we can sell them we lose in taxes. Thru the years we have managed, thru a great deal of hard work, self-denial, and investment  accumulate some real estate to pass on to you children. Now the proposed 'death tax' will rob you of  everything I worked for you to have.

I am sorry - so sorry. The way it turned out, we should have just worked enough to provide for your basic needs, stayed home with you more, not involved ourselves in community affairs, and lived for the moment with any excess dollars we might have had. The ultimate financial outcome would have been the same but maybe at least we could have been better parents. We were busy serving our customers, taking care of our patients, working to improve the community, sometimes to the detriment of our family. I guess we were just of the 'old school' where we were taught to be self-sufficient, save for the future, give back to the community , take care of your family and all would be well.

I really do not resent any group, black -white, young-old having a chance to succeed. Everyone deserves that but for us older folks, the rules changed in the middle of the game and because of this 'change' our world has been turned upside down. Our generation was built on the depression era of our Fathers and those fears and ideals we tried to pass on to your generation.

I do not mean to cause you anxiety or depression but these are simply the facts for thousands of seniors in the new and 'CHANGED' society. This transition to 'Change' will be most disconcerting. It is almost like suddenly finding out 'there is no God'. You lose everything you ever believed in.................  Love, Mother

THE DEMOCRAT GAINS

It is still hard to tell for sure the full extent of the damage in the Congress. But it basically went as expected. The Democrats won't get their magical 60 seats in the Senate, but they will have enough. Already with a majority in the Senate, Republican Sens. Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina and John Sununu of New Hampshire lost their seats to Democrats. Also, Virginia and New Mexico picked up seats from retiring GOP Senators. Some races (like in Minnesota) are still too close to call.

In the House, the Democrats were able to knock out at least 12 Republicans so far and gain 9 open GOP seats. There were a few Republicans who were able to win over Democrat incumbents (four, to be exact). But a lot of these races are still going. The last we heard, Democrats had over 250 seats in the House and at this rate, they are expected to gain 20 seats in total. That would put their somewhere around 255 seats.

Oh and let's not even get started on Governor's races.

The end of the secret ballot in union elections
A return of the Fairness Doctrine
A tax code punishing the wealthy, businesses, entrepreneurs, achievers
More federal government in government schools
Universal healthcare
Cap-and-trade policies on coal (no nuclear power, no drilling)
Supreme Court justices who favor a vaporous idea of "fairness" over the Constitution
The security of our nation and our allies (particularly Israel)

So now it's all up to the Democrats ..... it is their turn to prove that they can somehow tax the achievers, increase spending programs and still get federal spending under control. Isn't that what the people want? Change? Oh, that's right. The people forgot to ask what exactly we were going to be changing to.

INTEMPERATE ELECTION THOUGHTS

If you don't think that the dumbing-down of America through government education had anything to do with Obama's victory, then you ought to be sentenced to reading some of the comments from Obama supporters we've received. You would soon be of a different opinion.

Get ready for retroactive tax increases. When the Democrats begin their punishment of achievement you can bet that that they'll make any tax increase on the high achievers retroactive to January 1, 2009.

An idea for small business owners: Make note now of which of your employees voted for Obama. When the tax increases hit and you're looking for a way to cut expenses to offset the higher taxes, they should be the first to go. They voted for it, let them suffer the consequences.

Did you see those black militants at the Philadelphia polling places? There they were in the black berets brandishing nightsticks guarding the entrance to the polling location. Not much screaming over that. But ... what it if had been skinheads "guarding" the entrance to a predominately white polling place. Yeah .. just imagine the reaction to that for a moment.

I wonder what percentage of the vote can be attributed to the media's fawning over The Chosen One? Not only do Republicans have to fight to win the hearts and minds of Americans again .. but they have to battle the media as well. Nothing there will change. One commentator last night said that Obama will scratch their stomachs every once in a while and they'll roll over like puppies.

While we're on that topic, you cannot imagine the number of "Wait until Barack Obama is President, and see what happens to you" emails we've received here at the Boortz show. We generally chose not to comment on or post them ... but they were there nonetheless - in large numbers. I cannot remember a previous election where a candidate was wielded as a weapon like this.

Do you realize that way back yonder at the founding of our Republic the word "Democrat" was an epithet? Back then if you called someone a Democrat you might well be challenged to a duel --- or just get the snot knocked out of you. In the late 1700s a Democrat was "someone who panders to the whims of the masses." Not much has changed insofar as the definition has changed ... but now we elect them.

Rhetorical ability is so very important in politics. Obama has it, McCain does not. Smooth talkers win at single's bars and in politics .. often with similar outcomes for the listener.

I wonder how many people voted their jobs away yesterday?

Looking ahead to 2012? Unless someone better shows up, Huckabee is my choice on the Republican side. As for the Libertarian ... well, I have a favorite choice, but don't know if he'll run, let alone if he could win the nomination. A lot of peace-at-any-price Libertarians aren't too fond of him.

I still remember in the days after the Republican voter revolution of 1994 when I heard a talk radio colleague telling listeners that liberals are finished .. done. The suggestion was made that we should save a few liberals and put them on display just so we can remember what they were like. "Yeah," I thought. "Don't kid yourself. They'll be back with a vengeance.. looking for conservative blood." Hellllooooooooo!

Here in Georgia Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss won reelection. He defeated a Democrat weasel who told voters that "Saxby Chambliss wants to add a 23% sales tax to everything you buy." You see .. there is something to smile about today.

WHERE DO REPUBLICANS GO FROM HERE

By
Neal Boortz

What is clear is that the Republican Party has failed on so many levels. I'm not talking about John McCain, I'm talking about the Republican Party. A party that was supposed to reflect the Conservative values of limited government, fiscal restraint, among others, got completely drunk with power. Our Founding Fathers would be ashamed.

Republicans also failed to communicate a message that people could understand. Only in the last days, when Joe the Plumber arrived, did a light bulb flicker. But it shouldn't have taken one man in Ohio to do it. John McCain should have spent months hammering Obama's Marxist tendencies -- his 95% tax cut lies -- his cutting capital gains for small businesses. As a party Republicans failed to rally a base that reflected its core values. Maybe that is because those core values no longer exist for the Republicans in power. Just take a look at the past eight years. But somehow, before the next election, they must figure out which direction they want to take their party, and they must believe it, market it, and most importantly - live up to it.

If the Republicans don't learn from this, that is their own fault. They created Barack Obama. They created a Congressional Democrat majority. But they also have the power to re-create their party. Some pundits are worried that this "new direction" will be more socially Conservative. Perhaps that's exactly what we need! My preference would be to see a move back to basic principles of individualism, freedom, economic liberty, self sufficiency and pride in our Country ... with a highlight on individualism. Barack Obama is merely a continuation of the leftist war against the concept of the individual. Democrats look at us as tools ... tools to be used to create some sort of an egalitarian society. Can the Republicans make this point to the voters? Hint: Republicans need to look to the Libertarian Party for some ideas on how to promote the idea of individualism and fight the concept of the individual as government property.

THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE

By

Making the rounds on Election Day, Senator Chuck Schumer reiterated his support for the Fairness Doctrine. He says he supports it because all people should support coverage that is "fair and balanced." He said, "The very same people who don't want the Fairness Doctrine want the FCC to limit pornography on the air. I am for that... But you can't say government hands off in one area to a commercial enterprise but you are allowed to intervene in another. That's not consistent."

Okay, folks. I know that you are tired of hearing about this. And this may not be something that Barack Obama champions, but the fact is that there is huge momentum for House Democrats right now. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (a close friend of Obama) says that it is time to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine. Senate Rules Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein has stated her strong support for the Fairness Doctrine. My point is that these Democrats in Congress could get greedy. They could feel like they have a mandate of the people and push for legislation like this.

Not sure if you caught some of the world's reaction to an Obama presidency. I kept hearing this line about America being "less arrogant" with Obama in the White House. I can only assume that by "less arrogant" they mean that Obama will fail to put his country and its citizens first. That he would be willing to talk with directly with nations that have called for the destruction of our allies. That he would be absolutely against the Bush Doctrine of preemptive strike. That he would pull our troops out of Iraq in defeat, because it would look good to the rest of the world. I guess there is nothing arrogant, to the outside world, about a man who wants to punish success in his own country so that every can be more "equal."

Obama using the words "less arrogant?" Amazing.

At that rate she would have been a mayor, a governor, and a vice presidential nominee ... but for Democrats, I'm sure that will not be enough experience for Palin to be considered. A lot can happen in four years. Heck, we've learned in this election that a lot can happen in just days. It wasn't but a few weeks ago that Joe the Plumber entered the scene. Fox News has now called my home state of Georgia for McCain. Also - to make the news even better - Fox has called Georgia's Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss the winner in the Senate race. The Chambliss win is comforting on several levels. One, his opponent campaigned on lies about the FairTax. I still believe in the FairTax as strongly as ever .. but more on that later. Secondly, this is one Senate seat the MoveOn Democrats won't be able to count on for their filibuster proof majority.

The last thing I would want to do is discourage any capable and qualified voter from heading out today to vote. Now by capable and qualified I mean someone who is actually a citizen and someone who has somewhat of a clue as to what is going on out there. The sad truth is that there are going to be legions of voters like that idiot woman at an Obama rally who thought that once Obama wins here mortgage payments and gas for her car were going to be taken care of.

Obama is going to win this thing. There are only two mysteries left. How big will the victory be, and will Obama get a filibuster-proof U.S. Senate. If I had not already case my vote during early voting I would stand in line as long as it took here in Georgia to make sure that our Republican Senator is not replaced by a left-wing Democrat - one who is destined to become Harry Reid's sock puppet if he wins.

So ... some Election Day thoughts:

Thanks, Republicans. This one belongs to you. The Republican Party completely abandoned its principles after the voter revolution of 1994. The GOP became the party of big spending and big government. Beltway Republicans became drunk on power and completely forgot why they were there. They gave us no real reason to go to the polls and vote for them save for that filibuster-proof Senate scare and the fear of what the election of a Marxist will mean to our freedoms.

Thanks, George Bush. Thanks for your spectacular lack of leadership on issues of spending and big government over the past two terms. You get all the credit in the world for keeping America safe from another terrorist attack ... but when a president signs a bill he thinks is unconstitutional (McCain-Feingold) just because he thinks the Supreme Court will straighten things out; and when a president introduces grand new entitlement programs (Medicare drug benefits) and fails to veto even one pork-laden spending bill ... well, the result is an uninspired electorate and ... Barack Obama.

Thanks, Government Schools. Back to that woman at the Obama rally: Does she really believe that once Obama is elected she won't have to worry about putting gas in her car or paying her mortgage? Yup, she probably does. Then we have those Harlem voters who think that Barack Obama did a fine job in selecting Sarah Palin as his running mate. This election, more than any I can remember, illustrates why Democrats are so determined to preserve our system of government education. American voters are, for the most part, spectacularly uninformed about the issues and the candidates they are voting for. Did I say "uninformed?" I meant to say ignorant. For the most part these people casting ballots today could not name their two U.S. Senators and their Congressman if their flat-screens and cell phones depended on it. Things are only going to get worse. Get ready for an all-out war on school choice .. and that includes the home schooling option. The era of the teacher's unions is upon us.

And thanks Voters. This is an election that has been driven by wealth envy and celebrity worship. I really don't see any of this changing anytime soon ... so, whatchagonnado?

I really should be saving most of this for tomorrow .. when we find out just how much trouble our Republic is really in. For today ... all we can realistically hope for is keeping those big-government numbers down in the Senate.

WILL WE SEE CHAOS?

The world is prepared for the United States to erupt today. Whether out of joy, or frustration with the polls, or desperation ....

Let me remind you of something. Earlier this year Pew Research did a poll in Europe. They found that 58% of Europeans wanted to see the United States' role in international affairs weakened. Europe wants you to vote for The Chosen One. Do you see any correlation here?

I would make one suggestion. It seems a lot of people are predicting some sort of violence tonight. Nobody is expecting this violence to come from McCain supporters. And no .. it has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with culture - an urban culture of violence. So .. If I were you I would get rid of all McCain yard signs and bumper stickers before the polls close. Why make yourself a target?

I've been saying that my bets are with Intrade out of Ireland. This is where people actually put their money where their mouth is. As of this morning, here are Intrade's predictions:

  • Barack Obama will win .. Intrade says about a 91% chance of victory.
  • Obama was favored in every state Kerry won in 2004. On top of that, Obama is favored to win Ohio, Florida, Virginia and North Carolina.
  • John McCain will probably hold onto Indiana and Montana.
  • Bob Bar and Ralph Nader will get less than 1% of the vote.
  • Turnout is expected to be between 60% and 65%.

OBAMA SAYS "TAKE THE DAY OFF" ... DEMOCRATS JUMP

Rasmusssen did a poll to find out who would be taking the day off to go and vote. Keep in mind that this is Barack Obama's recommendation - that you take the day off to exercise your patriotic right to vote! (Even though there isn't a right to vote).

What Rasmussen found shouldn't come as a surprise to you. Just look around your office today. Who are the people who didn't show up? You can put money on the fact that they are a Democrat. About 20% of voters say they plan to take today off. Of those people, 35% of them are Democrats. Meanwhile, 94% of John McCain supporters say they do not plan to take the day off of work.

Something else you might find amusing ... 21% of people who have already voted say that they plan to take off of work today. My bet is that 100% of those people voted early for the Chosen One; after all, he's going to take care of them and they won't have to work any more ... right?

CHUMP CHANGE

Obama did an interview with MTV ... this is where he is a true American Idol. But the interview is extremely telling. And yet I will bet you dollars to doughnuts that none of the government educated teenagers listening to this interview can even begin to understand what this man is actually saying. Here are some excerpts:

MTV: Our next question is from Matt from Iowa: "If your desire is to spread the wealth around, what incentive is there for me to try to work hard? If I am only going to get more taken away from me, the more money I make, why wouldn't I just slide into a life of relaxation and let rich people take care of me? And a lot of people are asking similar questions, and I wanted you to specify. What does this mean exactly?"

Obama: What is amazing to me is this whole notion that somehow everybody is just looking out for themselves ... You don't just give tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires. What you do is make sure the tax code is fair ... So this idea, that somehow everybody is just on their own and shouldn't be concerned about other people who are coming up behind them, that's the kind of attitude that I want to end when I am president.

Did you catch that, folks? As president, Barack Obama is going to end this idea of self-reliance. He is going to make sure that government is there to tell you when you should be concerned about the people behind you, and he is going to make sure that government is there to take your money to help these people. We have already established that wanting to keep the money that you earn is "selfish" according to Obama. On the other hand, wanting the money that someone else has earned isn't selfish. We also need to say that it was refreshing to see this particular question ... especially on MTV.

Another one:

MTV: Just out of curiosity, for those that are being taxed that are making more than $250,000 a year, how much difference would it be from how they are being taxed today?

Obama: Well, right now, they are getting taxed at 36 percent. Under Bill Clinton in the 1990s, they were being taxed at 39.6 percent. You are talking about a 3.6 percent difference, and for the average person who is making half a million, a million dollars ... that's chump change, that's nothing ...

So there you go. The reason that Obama will increase taxes on the evil rich is because that is "chump change" to them. It's money they just don't need. I'm sure that is not what the people who earned it think. But what do they know? It is now the government's role to take that chump change and make sure that you aren't being selfish with it.

This is the type of leftist nonsense that Obama has been spreading in his stump speeches. Just yesterday in Jacksonville, where I just spent the weekend, Obama said, "The choice in this election isn't between tax cuts and no tax cuts. It's about whether you believe we should only reward wealth, or whether we should also reward the work and workers who create it." What is wrong with this picture? If by "wealth" you mean the business owners who created the jobs for these workers ... then ask these workers where they would get a job without the evil rich people to create them.

This isn't a question about rewarding wealth over work. Work creates wealth. Obama paints the picture that rich people are being somehow rewarded because they are rich; that being rich is just some status in life that was bestowed on them at the expense of others. This is anti-achievement rhetoric. Achievers bug Democrats because achievers understand that they can realize their dream without the government taking from others to give to them. Achievers must be demonized. If more people figure out that the road to wealth lies in hard work and determination then the role of government, and the power of politicians, will be lessened. Democrats and Obama want Americans to think that the only way they are going to have an adequate standard of living is for the government to take from those who have worked harder and smarter, and give to them. The inevitable result is that there are going to be fewer people willing to work hard to achieve wealth, and more people standing by for their government handouts. Even the government-educated can figure out where that is going to take us.

MY QUESTION TO JEWISH VOTERS

I've been asking why Jewish voters in America have hopped onto the Obama bandwagon ... we actually got some reasoned responses.

Subject: Jewish voters
Name: Stacy
Message:
Neal,
As a Jewish voter who is a reluctant Obama supporter, I would like to respond to your oft-repeated question as to why Jewish voters would vote for Obama, who is seen as a weaker supporter of Israel. This exact issue is debated hotly amongst many of my Jewish friends. The reality is that while Israel is an important issue to many Jews, it is not the only issue that matters. Like any other group in America, Jews are not just one-issue voters.

As a Jew, I find the fundamentalist Christian segment of the Republican Party a bit frightening. I have historically voted Republican, but the selection of Sarah Palin indicates that the Republican Party wants to move in that direction. Though Obama's views are, in general, too left for my taste, at least I don't have to worry about him making national decisions based on scripture. That is what many theocracies are doing in the Middle East and I have no interest in a theocracy here.

WHERE DO YOU START?

I chose that opening line rather than "what's the use." Election day is tomorrow, so there's definitely a chance here to prevent perhaps irreparable harm to our Republic ... maybe not a huge chance ... but a chance.

Never in the last 100 years has someone so completely inexperienced and so far to the left been so close to becoming our president. It is beyond imagination that we've come to this.

I really don't have the time before I go on the air to craft (if that's the word) a lengthy narrative on this campaign and the importance of our vote tomorrow ... so we go with bullet points. They don't necessarily flow together all that well ... but each gets a point across that is, I think, important.

Who knows ... maybe someone will read some of these points and tell themselves that they just can't pull the trigger for this dangerous leftist when they get into the voting booth. Others will read this and just have their feelings about how much trouble freedom and economic liberty in this country are in totally reinforced.

  • One question about Obama that has never been satisfactorily answered is "What has he ever accomplished?" The best his supporters can come up with is "He was elected to the U.S. Senate." So was John McCain ... several times. Besides, take a look at his election. He had two opponents self-destruct with scandal. The GOP had to go to Maryland and talk Alan Keyes into moving to Illinois to run against Obama. Trust me, that win was no sterling accomplishment.
  • Don't argue with me here. You'll lose. There is NO constitutional right to vote in a presidential election. We're going to learn in a few days just how smart our founding fathers were in this regard.
  • Obama is a product of the Chicago political machine. Several times during his political career Obama had a chance to either cast a vote or make a statement against the corruption that permeates Chicago's machine. Never - not on one occasion - did he do so.
  • The fact is, Obama has benefited from corruption (Tony Rezko?) but has never fought it.
  • Do you know how Obama won his first election in Illinois? He had campaign operatives go to the voting office and work hundreds of hours pouring over petitions to have his opponents thrown off the ballot. I guess that means that this is the first real election battle he's ever been in!
  • I guess it's just me, but all this time I thought that the government used its power to seize property ... i.e., to tax ... in order to fund the necessary and appropriate functions of government. Now, under Obama, we've learned that one of the appropriate functions of government is to take from those who have and give to those who have not. I prefer a different phraseology: Take from those who achieve, and give to those who achieve not. Karl Marx was of a like mind.
  • Obama's "spread the wealth around" mantra means that he believes that we do not leave our homes every morning to work for ourselves and our families. We leave our homes to work for the government. We belong to government, not to ourselves. The government will determine how much of the money we earn we deserve to keep .. the rest goes to people the government believes to be even more deserving of the fruits of our labors.
  • Obama's candidacy would have faltered before an educated electorate. Why do you think Democrats love government schools so much? Do you want examples? I've got examples.
  • Obama says he's going to give tax cuts to 95% of Americans. Americans don't realize that over 40% of their numbers don't pay income taxes; and since they don't realize that, they aren't asking themselves how Obama can give a tax cut to someone who doesn't pay taxes.
  • Obama has effectively change the definition of "tax cut." From now on any government handout to any worker is a tax cut. Changing this definition may well be one of their greatest accomplishments in this election and that new definition will cause us problems for decades.
  • Obama constantly rants about those dirty corporations who shipped "our jobs overseas." An educated voter knows that those jobs belong to the employers, not the employees. Workers look for jobs. Employers with jobs look for workers. Pretty simple, really.
  • Obama also tells us that 95% of small businesses out there will not have their taxes increased. The only reason this line works is because our government educated voters cannot grasp the idea that it isn't the percentage of small businesses hit with tax increases that counts; it's the percentage of small business employees represented by the unfortunate 5% that counts. Tomorrow thousands of workers - perhaps tens of thousands of workers - employed by what we call "small businesses" will cast a vote that, a year or so down the road, will cost them their jobs.
  • Over the weekend Obama promised to bankrupt the coal industry if they tried to build any more coal-fired power plants. Can any of you think of a time when any president has ever made an overt threat to bankrupt a large American industry?
  • Obama says that his "cap and trade" policy for controlling greenhouse gas emissions is going to cost electricity prices to "skyrocket." Oops ... there goes some of that middle class "tax cut." Guess he'll have to transfer some more wealth to help his constituents pay the increased price.
  • There are literally millions of Obama supporters out there who think that once Obama becomes the president their lives are going to become sweetness, roses and light. One woman at an Obama rally
  • Remember Obama's 30-minute infomercial? If a foreigner with no knowledge of our country or our people were to see that program they would think that America was a country mired in abject misery and depravation. Thanks, Obama, for the nice positive message.
  • How long after the election, whether Obama wins or loses, do you think it will take for that America-hater Jeremiah Wright to surface?
  • The top 10% of income earners in this country pay over 70% of all income taxes. The top 1% of income earners earn around 19% of all income, but they pay almost 39% of all income taxes. When these people don't want to give up a larger share of their earnings Obama call's them "selfish."
  • When someone is content to sit on their butts and wait for Obama to transfer some wealth from someone else to their pockets they are not "selfish."
  • Every one of the points I am bringing up here is "hate speech" to an Obamacon.
  • The great Democrat goal is to have more than 50% of the voters living, at least in part, on the efforts of the minority of voters. When we pass that tipping point ... and we're nearly there ... game over.
  • In every election since 1952 Democrats have told the voters "vote for the Republicans and they'll take your Social Security away." In every election after 2008 the Democrats will say "Vote for the Republicans and they're going to make you pay taxes." Then if Obama wins again, in every election after 2012 Democrats will say "Vote for the Republicans and they'll make you pay for your own Social Security and Medicare." How long before we hear: "Vote for the Republicans and they'll make you work for a living!"
  • Obama will definitely destroy your right to be armed outside of your own home for your own protection. The question is whether we count the time until he accomplishes this in days, weeks, months or years.
  • Do you see now why politicians, especially Democrats, aren't fond of the FairTax? Without playing his tax scam and wealth envy card Obama would have been toast by Super Tuesday.
  • Surveys in Israel show that 76% of Israeli citizens want McCain to win. American Jews will vote for Obama by pretty much the same percentage. What do Jews in Israel know that Jews in America do not?
  • Peter Nicholas is a reporter for the Los Angeles Times. He has been traveling with Obama for almost the entire campaign. Nicholas writes "After all this time with him, I still can't say with certainty who he is." Nicholas doesn't know him, but so many voters are so sure they do.
  • Obama wants a national civilian security force that, in his words, is "just as strong as our military." Who would they serve under? What would their mandate be? Would they be unionized? (oh HELL yes!). Would this be like the Soviet Union under Communism where neighbors ratted on neighbors for anti-government statements? And what does he mean "as strong as our military?" Would this national civilian security force have nukes? Tanks? Fighter planes? Are we just talking about a glorified national police? (Show us your papers!)
  • Obama has talked about reducing spending on our military. One leading Democrat Senator has suggested a 25% spending cut on defense. Do you feel comfortable with that? You do know that all of the savings would be spent on buying votes, don't you?
  • Do you home school your children? Obama has called home schooling a fraud. Put him in office and you'll be putting your kids back in government schools for their indoctrination.
  • Do you run a small business? If Obama wins start planning immediately to lower your work force. The best way to do this would be through efficiency measures and temporary staffing agencies. Not only is Obama going to make it easier for your workers to unionize ... he's going to expand onerous measures such as the Family Leave Act. You will end up paying your employees a good portion of their salary to lay out for weeks on end.
  • Maybe you shop at Wal-Mart. Get ready for higher prices. Obama's instant unionization bill will surely result in the unionization of Wal-Mart's workforce. In fact, as much as Democrat politicians hate Wal-Mart, it's safe to say that Wal-Mart is target number one. The result? Higher prices for you. If Obama can call a government handout a tax cut, we can call higher prices a tax increase. This will be Obama's tax increase on the poor and the middle class.

OK ... run with those. We'll come up with more. In the meantime ... some details:
