BOWING TO THE EMPEROR

You saw it, didn't you? Barack Obama damned near bounced forehead off the floor when he met the Emperor of Japan. That's how deep his bow was. Obama does the same thing for Saudi princes. With the Emperor Obama didn't just dip his head .. he bent 90 degrees at the waist. Some protocol experts say that a deep, 90 degree bow represents a humble apology for some sort of a transgression. Don't know if Obama is smart enough to know that ... but it's worth considering.

In the meantime ... when Clinton was in office he, too, met the Emperor. Clinton dipped ever-so-slightly at the waist, and The New York Times gave him hell. The times said it was inappropriate for a President of the United States to bow before a foreign leader. Let's all hold our collective breaths while we wait for the Times to take America's Dear Leader to task on this one.

Here's the story of a doctor who had a general surgery practice in a rural California town. She outlines her experience of dealing with patients who were receiving healthcare on the taxpayer dime all the while spending their money on luxury items.

According to Dr. Linda Halderman, the following items were commonly seen on patients or carried by their dependent children who's medical coverage was being covered by subsidized programs:

  • Cell phones and "BlackBerry" PDAs, including just-released models with a price tag of $400, plus an ongoing monthly service fee of $65-$150
  • iPods and portable DVD players
  • GameBoys and handheld electronic games
  • Artificial fingernails requiring maintenance every two weeks at a cost of $40-$60 per salon visit
  • Elaborate braided hair weaves, $300 per session plus frequent maintenance
  • Custom-designed body art, including tattoos covering the entire torso, neck and arms, as well as body jewelry piercing every skin surface imaginable-and a few unimaginable ones.
  • Custom tattoo work, particularly the "portrait-type" and "half sleeve" art popular in this area, runs from $100-$300 per hour and can require up to 20 hours of work, depending on the complexity of the design.

These people have all of this money to spend on non-essentials, but not enough money to provide for their own basic healthcare, or their children's.

AND SPEAKING OF TATTOOS ...

You may remember this story from a while ago. In California, a man by the name of Enrique Gonzalez had his 7-year-old son tattooed with a gang symbol. The dog paw print on the boys right hip is supposed to represent Fresno's notorious criminal street gang, the Bulldogs.

So now the case is in court. A judge will decide today whether putting a tattoo on his son (obviously a minor) is considered "permanent or painful disfigurement." If that is the case, Enrique Gonzalez would serve life in prison.

Life in prison may be a bit much. Just have "child abuser" tattooed on his forehead. And while we're at it have "HIV Positive" tattooed on his stomach just below his naval. That ought to lead to some interesting times.

Now ... remember this. This comes from a Hall of Fame radio personality and New York Times bestselling author .. then throw in hot air balloon pilot and lawyer (both requiring a lot of hot air) and you have the complete package. Ready? No woman anywhere at any time has ever enhanced her appearance with the addition of a tattoo. And for you fat chicks out there. Those ankle tats don't take off one ounce.

Can any of you understand how little I care that the F-bomb was dropped on SNL this weekend? Can we just get over it? First of all, the kids were in bed. Secondly, they hear this word every single F___ing day at school anyway.

Oh yeah, there's a bad word in this clip if you haven't figured that out yet. You have been warned.

It was the MTV Video Music Awards last night in New York. Taylor Swift won the award for the best female video. She's 19-years-old and she sings country music. That's not exactly the target demo for the MTV Video Music Awards.

Sooooooo .... Swift is on stage accepting her award when Kanye West runs up and grabs the microphone away from her and said "Yo Taylor. I'm really happy for you I'm let you finish, bit Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time ...." West then left the stage to boos .. and Swift didn't get the chance to finish her acceptance remarks.

Later when Beyonce was accepting her award for the best music video of the year (that would be male and female) she invited Taylor out on stage to finish her remarks. That showed real class.

Now .. since we're so busy slinging charges of racism around (see previous and next items) let's acknowledge that if it had been a black female on the stage and the microphone had been grabbed from her by a white male, all racial hell would have broken loose. Do you remember that presidential debate some years back when a Republican male candidate walked up to Hillary Clinton while she was answering a question? The media was quick to condemn the move as sexist. Let's see where those same people are today.

Kanye West once again shows that he is a classless pig.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution tells us that there were four perfect 2400 scores in Georgia on the SAT test. Wunnerful wunnerful. Let's have our own little test right here: First, we'll do what the diversity mavens like to do so much, and that is divide Georgia school children into four different ethnic classifications.

[  ] White
[  ] Black
[  ] Hispanic
[  ] Asian

There you go. Remember, to the diversity cops it's all about ethnic heritage, not so much about personal character, ability, effort or traits.

OK ... Now you go ahead and put a number beside each ethnic classification showing how you think those four perfect SAT scores were distributed.

Done? If you put the number 4 beside Asian, you have just made a perfect score on our own little test! Aren't you proud! Their names are Cong "Tom" Hui, Michelle Liu, Marissa Pan and Tanya Nguyen. You can read their stories here.

So - do you think that all four of the Georgia students who scored a perfect 2400 on their SAT did so because of some genetic inherent superiority of the Asian people? It's not genetics, folks. It's culture. Read the stories. In every case these kids came from a family - a culture - that honored and prized education. You can bet that when these students worked hard in class or actually brought in their homework their Asian classmates didn't accuse them of trying to "act white." You can also bet they weren't denigrated by friends for learning to speak English in an understandable and proper manner.

This "culture" message doesn't sit well with a lot of people. Why not? Because culture is something you can change. You cannot change your race. If you fail to rise above the negative aspects of the culture in which you were raised, your bad. For many it is so much easier to blame failures on skin color - something you can't change.

THAT EVIL NEAL BOORTZ

Every once in a while I just get lucky. I make an offhanded remark on the air that sends the looters into such paroxysms of angst and outrage that I get about a weeks worth of a free ride in blogs, columns and radio and TV shows.

Such was the case about 10 days ago when I made a comment about Barack Obama's plans to spend even more money that we don't have to "rebuild" New Orleans. I wondered why we would spend all of that money on an effort that would simply serve to bring back much of the debris that Hurricane Katrina washed out.

Look .. I guess I'm not as perfect a human being as so many of you are. When someone asks me if I think that some people are better than others, I'm not afraid to answer "Oh HELL yes." I understand and support the concept of equal rights under the law. Having equal rights does not make one equal. There are worthy human beings out there, and there are people you would have to be generous to call trash.

Let's take a look at New Orleans before Katrina struck. Here are some statistics from City Journal:

"New Orleans's poor population includes a sizable underclass. Before Katrina struck, fully 10 percent of New Orleanians lived either in public housing or Section 8 housing, far above the rates in Houston or New York. Only 36 percent of New Orleans's adults were married, compared with more than 49 percent in Houston, and more than half of mothers were unmarried, compared with 28 percent in Houston. In some New Orleans neighborhoods, only a quarter of the children lived with married parents. More than two-thirds of female-headed black households lived in poverty. Though many of New Orleans's underclass had moved from idleness into low-wage, tourist-trade jobs over the past decade, thanks to federal welfare reform and an abundance of such work in the city, their family structures and social skills hadn't improved along with this fledgling work ethic. The concentration of weak families partly explains why the city endured some of the nation's highest violent-crime rates."

Who were these people described in City Journal? Many of them were the people who were put on busses and sent to places like Houston. It didn't take any great amount of brainpower to see how this was going to work out for Houstonians. I can remember the day that the busses rolled out of New Orleans on Interstate 10. I told my listeners "Houston, you have a problem." What kind of a problem? Here's more from City Journal:

"Houston has slowly acknowledged, Katrina evacuees pushed up Houston's rates for some crimes, particularly homicide, not just the raw number of offenses. Houston's post-Katrina crime surge is an extension of the pre-Katrina violence of New Orleans's criminal underclass. Before Katrina, New Orleans had the highest murder rate of any big U.S. city, almost four times Houston's, with 58 people killed per year for every 100,000 citizens. The murder numbers Houston has racked up since Katrina prove that violent New Orleanians haven't changed their ways, but only their scenery.

Since Katrina, Houston police have identified New Orleans evacuees as either suspects or victims (or often both) in more than 30 Houston-area homicides. Of an evacuee population of 175,000, this works out to a per-capita annual murder rate of about 34 per 100,000, well above Houston's pre-Katrina rate. News of violent murders committed by and against Katrina evacuees has created a bit of a backlash in Houston. In a recent Rice University poll of Houston-area residents, two-thirds of the participants blamed Katrina evacuees for the crime spike and for a "considerable strain" on community resources."

I don't mince words. I'm not controlled by the dictates of political correctness. There are human beings out there - human beings that will readily export their culture of dependency and predatory violence to wherever they travel - that are deserving of the title "debris."

I love New Orleans. Been there many times, and the Boortz Crew was there in the French Quarter the night before Katrina hit. New Orleans is critically important to the US economy. The Port of New Orleans is the principal export point for the millions of tons of grain produced in America's heartland. Clearly New Orleans had to be brought back from the brink after Katrina. But for the life of me I don't see the need to spend taxpayer's money to rebuild New Orleans as it was before the storm .. a haven for welfare criminal parasites. Those who stayed and rebuilt .. fine. Those are the type of citizens of which New Orleans can be proud. These people ought to be screaming over the prospects of a federal rebuilding program that would bring back much of the welfare and criminal element that Katrina chased away.

There .. I said it again.

There is a movement happening in the UK right now. Insurance companies are considering the idea of raising insurance premiums for anyone who uses social networking sites. This includes sites like Facebook or Twitter. They say premiums could rise, even if only your children are on social networking sites. Why? Because burglars are using the sites to "shop for victims" ... keeping track of when you are on vacation, home addresses, birthdays, etc.

The question here is whether or not the insurance regulations in the UK will allow insurance companies to compete on something like this. The private market can take care of asinine ideas like raising premiums on Facebook customers. Let some company try this, and another company comes along and steals their customers. All you need is competition. Unfortunately, competition is poison to governments. We'll see what happens.

Just wondering. The whole world seemed to be wrapped up in that spectacle from Los Angeles - the memorial service for Michael Jackson. I'm just wondering how many American servicemen killed protecting our country were buried yesterday. Something worth thinking about.

INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY?

Let's talk for a bit about Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee. She decided that for some reason, she was going to play a prominent role in the memorial service of Michael Jackson. Well .. it was a spectacle, and what better place to make a spectacle out of yourself.

Back to the hyphenated Congresswoman in a moment. I made a few ... and just a few ... of my Twitter followers mad yesterday with some of my tweets about this memorial service thing out in La La land. I made clear my belief that Michael Jackson was a pedophile and that the world was now a better place. There was much agreement, but there were also some strong rebukes. I looked at the tweets of some of the people who took me to task. Really sad stuff. "Oh Michael, why did you leave me?" "The world will never be the same without this great man." "Michael was the most important person in my life." "I'm crying again, I just can't help it."

Yesterday we showed the world the worst face of the mindless culture of celebrity worship. We elevate these people to the position of Gods. Our bibles are People Magazine and US Weekly. Our services are held nightly on Entertainment Tonight.

Back to the esteemed Congresswoman from Houston. Sheila Jackson-Lee decided that she wanted to defend Michael Jackson against any charges of child molestation. Here's what she had to say: "We understand the Constitution, we understand laws, and we know that people are innocent until proven otherwise ... That is what the Constitution stands for." In case you missed it, here's the video:

OK ...here's a little civics lesson for you. This "innocent until proven guilty" thing ONLY applies to government. The idea that a person is innocent of a crime until he has been convicted is a complete absurdity. Once you've murdered someone, you are a murderer. You don't become a murderer when the jury says "guilty." You become a murderer when you pull the trigger. You've taken a life. Jury deliberations don't change that.

The purpose of the "innocent until proven guilty" concept is to hold a tight rein on government. Government, you see, is the only entity out there that can legally take your life, your property or your freedom. Our founding fathers saw fit to require that the government prove you're your guilt beyond a reasonable doubt before these actions are taken. So ... the ONLY place where this "innocent until proven guilty" standard applies is to government attempts to punish you for a crime. It doesn't apply to me or to you because we aren't empowered to carry out punishment.

So, Mrs. Jackson-Lee; only the government is forbidden from assigning guilt without due process, and there are plenty of exceptions to that rule, by the way. As for me .. as for the people ... we are perfectly free to assign guilt based on our beliefs, knowledge of the facts and understandings of the circumstances. We believe that O.J. Simpson butchered his wife. He's a murderer. And we believe that Michael Jackson was a child molester. Having millions of dollars you can use to pay off families and victims does NOT make you innocent.

Oh and while we are on the topic of Jacko's memorial service. Barack Obama apparently owes his presidency to Michael Jackson. That one is according to Al Sharpton.

GOVERNMENT CAN'T DO IT ALONE

Michelle Obama said something that I can agree with ... that struggling communities should not look to the government alone for help. Great. Let's throw some personal responsibility in there from time to time. But then she turns around and points out that the government just passed a government service law in order to put volunteers to work, and you should really take advantage of this.

Hmm. So on one hand you want communities to not look to the government, but then you want them to rely on a government law that provides volunteers. Maybe it's just me, but it shouldn't take a government law to encourage volunteerism.

Then she pulls out this line, "Washington can only do so much ... Communities are built and rebuilt by regular people." So just in case you were not aware, those people in Washington aren't regular people. Maybe they are, I don't know, above regular people?

Saw this low-life walking through the airport yesterday. Pulled out the trusty Flip and shot about 20 seconds. Look at this idiot. It looks like his pants are fastened just above his knees. He has to waddle like a duck to even walk. Upstairs we had the typical backwards baseball hat and a scowl. Can you imagine anyone wanting to give this moron a job doing anything where he might come in contact with the general public? Probably won't need a job anyway ... odds are we'll be providing him with room and board before too long. Is there any chance he knows how totally ridiculous he looked? Not that he would give a flying KrispyKreme.

It has been 44 months since Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. But the parasite culture is still living large. FEMA still has 4,600 trailers in Louisiana and Mississippi that are occupied. But as of May 1st, their deadline for sucking vital bodily fluids from the taxpayers expired. Now, the residents of these trailers are upset and fearful that they are going to be kicked out by May 30th.

OMG! How horrible! These parasites might actually have to go out there - after almost four years - and take care of themselves?

Housing advocates - that's a fancy way to describe people who believe that having a house is a right guaranteed by our Constitution - say that the people living in these trailers are the Gulf Coast's most vulnerable residents ... those would be the poor, the sick and the old people. So they want the deadline extended yet again.

Belinda Jenkins is a 53-year-old disabled resident of FEMA housing. She says, "I don't have no plan right now." Yep, that should about sum it up.

Remember: Don't feed the bears.

What's sad is that more people in this country are shocked and horrified about the revelation that American Idol is fixed. More people are outraged that America won't get to choose the top four on American Idol, but they are not outraged that the man they have chosen to be president is spending this country into the ground. Or that Barney Frank and his wealth envy crew are on a mission to "recover" bonus money from AIG executives.

Now here is something you may not hear anywhere else on talk radio. We're going to talk about the "N" word here for a moment. The word is bad news .. especially if you happen to be white. The word has been anything but banned in black culture however ... until now. Rappers and others in the black community now have another word. "President." Instead of "This is my n______ right here," it's now "This is my president right here." There is even a group out there called President Please --- a movement to replace the N-word with the word "president." Now the group itself seems to be serious, however there is a great video out there from New York 1 interviewing people in Harlem and the use of the word "president". Check it out below. No problem here. Isn't this replacing a very negative word with a positive one? Sounds good to me. But I do have a prediction here. My guess is that it won't be too long before --- and no, I'm not kidding here --- it won't be long before the use of the word "president" when referring to a black person will be considered to be racist .. unless, of course, you're a president.
