HOW TO ARGUE WITH A GLOBAL WARMER

The answer is easy ... you don't. And we learn this lesson from none other than the grandfather of the global warming scam himself: OwlGore. He was at an event recently where, for some very unusual reason, he agreed to take questions from reporters. But ... uh oh ... somebody dared to challenge Gore. So what's the logical solution? Turn off the mic! Turn off the mic before Gore starts sputtering and his eyes roll back into his head. What's the matter with you people! You don't challenge the Great and Powerful Gore when it comes to global warming! Don't you realize he won the Nobel Peace Prize? Oh wait ... so did Obama. But never mind! Sometimes the prize actually means something! So pipe down with your questions and criticisms. Save them for anyone who opposes Gore, not for people who support him or the Great Gore himself

Betcha that will be the last time he takes questions. Maybe not for another four years.

What's really going on with Gore?

OK ... think about this. Al Gore was Bill Clinton's dog-washer for eight years. He hardly distinguished as vice president. His tenure started out with him at Mt. Vernon looking at a bust of Thomas Jefferson and asking a tour guide "Who is this guy?" Things went downhill from there. Now Gore has found his place in the world. He got on the phony global warming scam and made it his own. He made a movie and got an Academy Award. The Norwegian Moonbats gave him the prize. Global warming is Al Gore's life. It's his entire reason to exist. Every ounce of power, pride, respect and credibility Gore has is tied up in his endeavors surrounding global warming ... or, as we call it since the Earth started to cool down ... climate change. When someone picks up a microphone and starts to challenge The Great and Powerful Gore on his home turf that person has to be shut down --- or turned off. Gore knows that the whole global warming bit is a fraud, but he cannot turn it loose. To abandon the global warming cause is to erase himself from history. He ain't going there.

The hurricane season is just about over. We have passed what should have been the peak. There have been six named storms, and not one of them could have blown out a candle on the continent. This global warming stuff is getting entirely out of hand. Time to end the burning of ALL fossil fuels, don't you think? And while we're at it let's seize 80% of all of the liquid wealth in the evil rich nations and give the money to third world dictators. What a wonderful world we would have then.

NOW WE HAVE A 'POLLUTION REDUCTION' BILL

First it was healthcare, now it is climate change. When the Democrats started their quest to take over 18% of our economy in the name of healthcare, they claimed it was a battle of exactly that ... healthcare. Then one day, Barack Obama gets up and makes a speech which changed the debate entirely. It was no longer about healthcare; the issue was suddenly insurance and the evil health insurance companies. Is any of this ringing a bell??

Well it seems as though the Democrats are going to try and do a similar maneuver with cap-and-trade legislation. John Kerry is the Democrat who has decided that cap-and-trade isn't really something that voters can identify with. In fact, John Kerry "doesn't even know what cap-and-trade means"! No lie. He really said that. His point was that if HE didn't know what the phrase cap-and-trade meant, then the average American (who clings to their guns and religion) DEFINITELY doesn't know what it means.

So he is simply going to change the term. So here it is, ladies and gentlemen. We no longer have a cap-and-trade proposal; we now have a "pollution reduction" bill. Doesn't that sound a lot nicer? A pollution reduction bill.

It's all about buzzwords to these people; buzzwords and focus groups. The right buzzwords will ensure that you maintain power over the people. These politicians aren't stupid. I'm guessing there was a focus group somewhere. I'm also guessing that the focus group facilitators asked the people what they thought of the phrases "cap and trade" and "pollution reduction." We all know which would be the winner there. I'm sure there are a lot of government-educated folks out there who will fall in line, believing this line about "pollution reduction" when the truth of the matter is that this has absolutely nothing to do with pollution. In fact cap-and-trade legislation won't do anything to actually curb global warming. But cap-and-trade legislation will do a few other things ... need I remind you?

  • A family of four can expect its per-year energy costs to rise by $1,241;
  • Including taxes, a family of four will pay an additional $4,609 per year;
  • Aggregate GDP losses will be $9.4 trillion;
  • Aggregate cap-and-trade energy taxes will be $5.7 trillion; and
  • Job losses will be nearly 2.5 million

How about more of this hopey-changey focus group thing?

CLIMATE CHANGE - REINVIGORATING THE FRAUD

For President Barack Obama, this week is all about international affairs. While healthcare is still at the forefront of the domestic debate, Obama will speak at the UN today and at the G-20 summit later this week. While the United States is focused on healthcare, the rest of the world seems to be focused on another issue: global warming.

Now why do you suppose that would be? No great mystery here ... After decades of looking, global warming has developed into the best scheme that the left has been able to concoct to effect the worldwide transfer and redistribution of the wealth.

World leaders are preparing for their climate change/wealth redistribution conference in Copenhagen in December. There is, though, a fly in the ointment.

The first is the US debate on healthcare. The international community is not all that thrilled that Obama decided to push forward on healthcare reform and leave climate change legislation by the wayside. Doesn't the president realize that redistributing huge amounts of wealth from the United States to undeveloped and despot-controlled countries is far more important then whether or not granny is going to get her hip replacement? They don't care about granny. They want our money; and climate change is the best chance they have right now. They're not thrilled that the Senate may not even get to climate change legislation by the end of this year.

The other roach in the ointment may be reports that the earth is actually cooling. While any world leaders attending these summits won't pay attention to this news, the people back home are. For years they've been hearing people like (ahem) your humble Talkmaster telling them that variances in the sun's heat output account for whatever climate change we're experiencing - now they see the data that conclusively shows the earth is actually cooling down, and has been for about nine years now. And ... guess what? They're also learning that solar activity is diminishing! Hmmmmm. Maybe the preachers of hate were right on this one!

Also, for we received some more information last week that we would pay an additional $1,700 a year if cap-and-trade legislation is passed. That went over like a ... er ... let's say like a mouse in a punchbowl.

Stay vigilant folks. The world's nations are congregating in Copenhagen. They want your money. Don't turn your back.

GLOBAL WARMING ON TRIAL

It has been a while since we have had any global warming in the news. But don't worry ... that debate is coming next, right after the Democrats finish with their government healthcare. Once they succeed in taking over 17% of the economy, then it is on to cap-and-trade, increasing taxes, crushing economic prosperity and whatever else they can do keep you suckling on the government teat.

So back to global warming ... the US Chamber of Commerce wants to put the science of global warming on trial. They want the EPA to hold a public hearing on the scientific evidence for man-made global warming. This is great! I love it! Businesses know how devastating this Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade bill will be. So before they let the Democrats get any further, they want to put the science on trial. Prove that this global warming is real and that your bill will do something to change it.

The fact of the matter is that this will never, ever happen. Why is that? Simple. Because the Democrats know that they will lose. They know that they have based their cap-and-tax schemes on a completely fraudulent cause that has nothing to do with the environment. They won't go on trial because it would be so embarrassing to see them try and defend something they can't prove.

Not only that, but the EPA, especially under a Democrat president, would never allow something like this to come to pass. A public hearing on the scientific evidence for man-made global warming?? Are you kidding me? But when the EPA denies the request (notice I said "when" not "if), the Chamber plans to fight it out in federal court.

The Chamber of Commerce says that this would be "the Scopes monkey trial of the 21st century ... and a judge who would rule, essentially, on whether humans are warming the planet to dangerous effect."

I'm talking about Debbie Stabenow. She's a Democrat Senator from Michigan, and she's oh-so-concerned about (gasp!) global warming. (I don't have to tell you that she is a Democrat, do I?) Stabenow is so special that she can actually feel the global warming when she's flying! Yup! She's that good! The Detroit News tells us that the brilliant Senator Stabenow says that "climate change is very real" because she can "feel it when I'm flying. The storms are more volatile. We are paying the price in more hurricanes and tornadoes."

Fact? Michigan just had its coldest - not its warmest, its COLDEST July since they began keeping records. The waters in the Great Lakes are starting to rise .. .keeping up with a 30-year cycle. These higher water levels fly right into the face of media reports that global warming is drying up the Great Lakes. The people of Michigan don't even put global warming on their list of top-ten concerns .. but this moonbat can feel the global warming when she's flying.

I love Henry Payne's (Detroit News) parting comment: "And there are sea monsters in Lake Michigan. I can feel them when I'm boating."

This would be funny if it weren't so sad. How in the world do the voters of this country manage to put such dumbasses in positions of power and responsibility? So far as I can see this moonbat has never worked a day in her entire life in the private sector. I've seen some vague references to "social worker" and "leadership training consultant." Leadership training? She is nothing less than a professional political hack ... and an amazingly ignorant one at that. And .. get this ... she's the 3rd ranking Democrat in the Senate. Sad.

Oh .. one more thing. Stabenow's husband, Tom Athans, has worked in a few executive positions for left-wing talk radio networks, including Air America ... this while Senator Stabenow has been working to reinstate the so-called "Fairness Doctrine." Conflict of interest anyone?

Now this is really incredible.

You do know, don't you, that this cap-and-trade monstrosity which passed through the house like ___ thru a goose two weeks ago, is the largest tax increase on the American people in the history of this Republic? Well, what are we going to get from this massive increase in the cost of living for Americans?

This comes from Republican Senator James Inhofe's office. Earlier this week there was a hearing in the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. Sounds dull. But don't count on the media to bring you any of the highlights. Here's something you probably haven't heard. EPA administrator Lisa Jackson - that's right, the official Obama-appointed environmental boss of us -- said that US cap-and-trade schemes would have zero effect on global emissions levels. Just great.

Yes, you read that correctly. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson said, "I believe the central parts of the [EPA] chart are that U.S. action alone will not impact world CO2 levels." Well, someone had to toe the administration line, so when Obama's Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, was shown the EPA charts he simply said that he disagrees. Good. That settles it now, doesn't it? The EPA Administrator says that our wonderful cap-and-tax bill won't make any difference in global temperatures, and the Energy Secretary disagrees. So everything is just fine. Let the tax increase roll on.

THIS 'HALTING GLOBAL TEMPERATURES' NONSENSE

World leaders are preparing themselves for upcoming climate talks in Copenhagen. Yesterday they all got together in Italy to work out some of the kinks. The result? The countries agreed that we shouldn't allow global temperatures increase by more than 2 degrees Celsius.

Wow. Considering climate history, that is one impossible goal. There is nothing any politician on earth can do to set a limit on the increase or decrease in global temperatures. The forces of nature are going to have their way, and there's not much we're going to be able to do about it.

OK .. back to the Italian political cluster-thingy. As you suspect, there is not any plan on just how to accomplish their stated goal. That would be because they're not really interested in accomplishing a goal. They're interested in the method, not the results. And you can bet your last ounce of gold that, for these politicians, wealth seizure and redistribution will be the method of choice. That's why they're in this game in the first place

Remember, just last week we had a plan to come up with a standard amount of carbon emissions regulated for every human on the planet. Then, if some people pollute more than they have to pay for using more than their "fair share" of carbon. Admittedly, this was another way of saying - tax the rich. You do realize, don't you, that a rich CEO flying his private jet to a business meeting is going to expel more CO2 than an aboriginal in Australia who goes to work with a spear in his hand.

CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE GLOBAL TRADING WAR

The Senate is currently working on its version of a cap-and-tax bill. This should scare the tar out of you ... John Kerry is helping write it. One thing that Kerry is trying to ooch out is a provision in the House's version of the bill that could spark a global trade war. How is that? Simple. The House wants to impose carbon taxes on imports to the United States. The reason: to protect American competitiveness against imports from countries without similar emissions regulations.

Gary Horlick, a prominent trade attorney in Washington, says, "If we re-interpret WTO rules to allow trade barriers based on how things are made, we open up a can of worms and might permit other countries to block our biotech exports, including major items such as corn, soybeans, and other crops." Not to mention the logical headache of trying to determine the carbon content of imports, particularly those that have passed through multiple countries.

Are you starting to get the picture here, folks? Did you even know that this provision was included in the House version of this cap-and-trade scam?

CLIMATE BATTLE HEATS UP

henry waxmanThe Democrats are hammering home their new favorite talking point on climate change: if you are against climate change, then you want our country to fail. The latest comes from our own Henry Waxman, whom is largely responsible for the latest cap-and-tax scheme in Congress. He said, "It appears that the Republican Party leadership in the Congress has made a decision that they want to deny President Obama success-- which means, in my mind, they are rooting against the country as well." So basically, anyone who does not support Barack Obama's agenda or policies is someone who is "rooting against" America. Now I get it.

Then we get to OwlGore. His piggy bank must be running low, because he has really ramped up the push lately for global warming legislation. Yesterday he tried to compare the fight against global warming to that of WWII, Winston Churchill and the Nazis. He said, "Winston Churchill aroused this nation in heroic fashion to save civilization in World War II ... We have everything we need except political will but political will is a renewable resource ... The level of awareness and concern among populations has not crossed the threshold where political leaders feel that they must change." In other words, you the voters aren't buying into his scheme. And if you don't buy into it, then politicians will have little reason to support it. Why is that? Because we all know that politicians have one goal in mind and that is maintaining power. They are not going to put their careers and their state limos and their taxpayer funded drapery on the line for an issue that isn't going to help them get re-elected. Polls have been sliding for months now ... people aren't buying the hype. OwlGore did get one thing right though. He said that a lack of awareness among voters allowed the government to avoid making tough decisions. That's what you get when you have the government educating your voters.

GLOBAL WARMING AND THE EVIL RICH

With international climate talks set to start this week, politicians around the world are looking for ways to get their hands on two things - power and money - all in the name of global warming. It just so happens that a new study has been released by the National Academy of Sciences which suggests that emissions targets should not be set for countries. They should be set for people!

Now here is how that would work. First you figure out how much carbon dioxide our atmosphere can handle. To do this, of course, you would use the same worthless phony computer models these hack scientists and the anti-capitalist crowd have been using for years to develop their fraudulent global warming narrative. You then take the total amount of CO2 our atmosphere can handle and divide it by the number of people in the world. You then have the carbon footprint that every person should be allowed to leave. You then find a way to either seize or extort money from the people who produce more than their fair share of greenhouse gasses.

You do see where this is going, don't you? Since the fall of the Soviet Union and world communism the anti-capitalist crowd has been looking for another platform from which they could carry on their attacks against economic liberty and the free enterprise system. They found that platform in the environmental movement. The platform was environmentalism; the tactic was the global warming hoax and the weapon was, and is attacks on the world's achievers. The thought process here is that evil rich people use more CO2 because all of their fancy yachts and private jets, big houses and fossil-fueled cars ... therefore they would probably emit more than their "fair share" of CO2 and be forced to buy carbon credits to offset their emissions. It doesn't matter what country you are from, only that you are richer than the average citizen of the world.

One of the study's authors, Shoibal Chakravarty of the Princeton Environment Institute, says that this isn't necessarily a limousine-and-yacht tax on the rich, but he did not rule it out: "We are not by any means proposing that. If some country finds a way of doing that, it's great."

This is a direct attack to the heart of America. It's a way for the left to bring America down to the level of the rest of the world. Don't laugh this off. Would you have thought one year ago that our government would now own General Motors and Citigroup, and that nationalization of our banks was imminent? Besides ... and I say this with the highest level of love for my fellow Americans ... we are now a country of government-educated idiots that can't see the dangers facing us. We're going to lose this great 200-year-plus experiment in economic liberty and freedom based on the rule of law rather than the rule of man because too many Americans got lazy and started looking for the easy way out. I suppose there will be someone around to write a final history of the great American experience when this grand adventure is over. I just hope they have the guts or the understanding to place the blame where it lies ... the idiotic idea of turning our most precious assets, our children, over to the government - the political class - to be educated. The government education establishment in this country has delivered to us exactly what it proposed ... generations of government educated myrmidons who are fit to be good employees and government subjects, and not much more.

Something else for you to think about: When you take the world's population as a whole, pretty much anyone living in the United States is considered to be "rich." Remember, the average American defined as living in poverty has a standard of living that exceeds the average European. This new "get the rich" global warming idea is aimed at accomplishing one thing ... bringing the hated United States down.

  • Do you think your friend might have cheated in the Peachtree Road Race? You can click here to check on them. If their name doesn't show up they didn't run the whole race ... and there they are wearing that t-shirt.

  • Well, the Independence Day celebrations are over. You can go back to trying to be as completely dependent on government as possible.

  • Will Obama and Chavez be successful in getting their buddy put back in power in Honduras?

  • The NYT is reporting that shifting oil prices are jeopardizing global economic recovery. Nothing is hurting our recovery more than government's decision that it will get to spend all the stimulus money.

IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN GLOBAL WARMING ...

... your views are not welcome. That is the way that the global warming crowd likes to play the game: simply do not invite "deniers" to the ballpark.

That leads me to this story. Next December the UN is going to have a major climate change conference in Copenhagen. So leading up to the event, a host of smaller events are going to take place around the world. One of those events is a meeting of the Polar Bear Specialist Group. The purpose? To scare the tar out of the world into believing that the polar bears are dying off at alarming rates due to man-made global warming. We know this to be entirely untrue ... but that is beside the point for the purposes of this UN meeting.

So naturally, if you are a scientist who does not believe in man-made global warming, you are not going to be invited to this little polar bear conference ... even if you are a world-renown specialist on polar bears. That leads me to Dr. Mitchell Taylor. He has been researching polar bears in Canada and the Arctic Circle for 30 years. But there's one problem, Dr. Taylor insists that polar bear populations are actually higher than they were 30 years ago. He also does not buy into this man-made global warming scam.

So Dr. Taylor has obtained funding to attend the Polar Bear Specialist Group meeting. Then his funding was taken away by members of the group because his views on global warming don't fit into the rest grand global warming scheme.

The chairman, Dr. Andy Derocher, explained in an email that his rejection had nothing to do with his undoubted expertise on polar bears but "it was the position you've taken on global warming that brought opposition." Dr. Taylor was also told that his views running "counter to human-induced climate change are extremely unhelpful." Unhelpful? Yeah .. unhelpful to those who seek to destroy free markets with global warming scares. Are we going to wake up to this nonsense before its too late?

On a similar note, Alan Carlin - the EPA scientist whose study critical of global warming was silenced - has finally spoken up.

IF YOU ARE AGAINST GLOBAL WARMING ...

... then you are against the world! Yep, this is the new line from liberals and Democrats. If you are against this climate change, cap-and-trade legislation that is making its way through Congress, then you are basically immoral.

Let's start with Henry Waxman, who is one of the chief architects of this cap-and-trade scheme. In response to the Republicans who voted against his plan, he says: "They [Republicans] want to play politics and see if they can keep any achievements from being accomplished that may be beneficial to the Democrats. They're rooting against the country and I think in this case, even rooting against the world because the world needs to get its act together to stop global warming."

Then, we get this from Paul Krugman in The New York Times. He writes, "A handful of these no votes came from representatives who considered the bill too weak, but most rejected the bill because they rejected the whole notion that we have to do something about greenhouse gases. And as I watched the deniers make their arguments, I couldn't help thinking that I was watching a form of treason -- treason against the planet. To fully appreciate the irresponsibility and immorality of climate-change denial, you need to know about the grim turn taken by the latest climate research."

Treason ... rooting against the world ... immorality ... wow, do these guys have a high opinion of their fraudulent cause or what?

THE CLIMATE CHANGE SCAM

On Friday, your House of Representatives passed the largest tax increase in American history. Most of them probably couldn't tell you many details about the bill, considering the Democrats were still ramming through 300-page amendments as of late Friday night. In fact, on Friday afternoon House minority leader John Boehner tried to dissect some of the language of that 300-page amendment on the House floor. But after his mini-filibuster was over ... the House voted ... and it passed. There were 44 Democrats who voted against the bill. They're all up for re-election in 2010. But there were eight Republicans that ended up voting for the bill, which passed 219-212. So here they are.

Mary Bono Mack (CA)
Mike Castle (DE)
Mark Steven Kirk (IL)
Leonard Lance (NJ)
Frank A. LoBiondo (NJ)
John M. McHugh (NY)
Dave Reichert (WA)
Chris Smith (NJ)

So what can you do? Well, your voice can be heard at the ballot box. The next time these hacks come up for re-election, you simply vote them out of office. Show them that their time for monkeying around in Washington is over. That's it. We know this won't happen though. Every one of these politicians has a long list of wonderful pork projects they've brought back to their districts ... projects that give them all the reelection juice they need.

Meanwhile, now the next battle is in the Senate. Make even more of a concerted effort to contact your Senators and make sure that they won't be conned into voting for this huge tax increase based on the global warming scam.

For those of you who need a refresher ... here are some details from Investor's Business Daily:

An analysis of Waxman-Markey by the Heritage Foundation projects that by 2035 it would reduce aggregate gross domestic product by $7.4 trillion. In an average year, 844,000 jobs would be destroyed, with peak years seeing unemployment rise by almost 2 million (see charts below).

Consumers would pay through the nose as electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket, as President Obama once put it, by 90% adjusted for inflation. Inflation-adjusted gasoline prices would rise 74%, residential natural gas prices by 55% and the average family's annual energy bill by $1,500.

Hit hardest by all this would be the "95% of working families" Obama keeps mentioning as being protected from increased taxation. They are protected, that is, unless they use energy. Then they'll be hit by this draconian energy tax.

And what would we get for all this pain? According to an analysis by Chip Knappenberger, administrator of the World Climate Report, the reduction of U.S. CO2 emissions to 83% below 2005 levels by 2050 -- the goal of the Waxman-Markey bill -- would reduce global temperature in 2050 by a mere 0.05 degree Celsius.

It's a scam, folks. It is not about the environment, it is about gaining power. It is not about creating jobs, because it won't. It will actually kill jobs. Speaking of that .........

BIG OIL ON CLIMATE LEGISLATION

How would America's biggest oil companies react to this cap-and-trade legislation? Most people would say "who cares?" because they are big, bad, evil corporations. But you should care, because they big, bad, evil corporations also provide Americans with jobs and energy.

So how will these companies react? According to Bloomberg News, they will be closing plants, cutting capital spending and increasing imports. You see, fuel importers will only need to purchase permits for the fuel that is to be burned by cars, trucks, etc. Domestic oil companies, on the other hand, would also have to buy allowances for any CO2 produced by their plants. Clearly that would make domestic companies less competitive and create an imbalance in the market. Yeah .. .haven't thought of that one, have you?

The CEO of ConocoPhillips, Jim Mulva, says, "It will lead to the opportunity for foreign sources to bring in transportation fuels at a lower cost, which will have an adverse impact to our industry, potential shutdown of refineries and investment and, ultimately, employment."

It is estimated that one out of every six US refineries would close by 2020 because the cost of carbon allowances would simply erase profits, according to the American Petroleum Institute. For the consumer, carbon permits would add 77 cents to the price of a gallon of gasoline. Slowly, people have started to realize that Obama has mastered the art of increasing taxes on businesses, which ultimately pass on those increases in the form of price hikes for consumers.

DO YOU THINK THEY'VE EVEN READ THIS THING?

Today the House is going to vote on this Cap and Trade - more accurately called "Cap and Tax" climate change scam. Any idea as to how big this bill is? Try 1,201 pages. [pdf] Any idea how many members of the House have read the darn thing? Try zero. Yeah, we are talking about a bill that is going to cost us $845 billion over the next 10 years ... and not one House member has read the entire thing.

If you had $845 billion of your own money on the line, do you think you would be combing through this thing tooth and nail? You betcha. But it's the taxpayers ... it's your grandchildren that will eventually suffer. So the House is willing to sit back and let it pass, and the government educated voters out there wouldn't know the difference.

What's happening tomorrow in Hollywood? What movies are coming out this weekend or what sports teams are playing? I bet you the average American can give you a 1,201 dissertation on these questions. Ask them what their Representatives in Congress are doing today ... passing a $845 billion Cap and Tax bill ... brook trout. I guarantee it.

Here's where the government schools and our wonder bread and circuses culture really come in handy for the political class. As with most of the other things they do, this is about power. Power over your pocketbook. Power over your life. They're going to take a naturally occurring function of everyday life and tax it. Well, more accurately .. they're going to lay claim to something that is essential to human life, something that is essential to the very operation of our economy, and then they're going to sell it to us. Believe me, if these same power-hungry cretins could lay claim to the very air that we breathe, and then sell it back to us, they would do it.

It takes a profoundly ignorant American to not realize that this bill is going to increase their cost of living by a fairly good clip. If you listen carefully the politicians have been admitting it ... and they feel free to do so because they by-God know that the people are not listening. Americans have been so sucked-in by this phony global warming scam that they will accept almost any solution the politicians throw at them. Now you understand why it was so important that, in spite of the evidence to the contrary, these politicians were able to scare you to death with global warming. Movies like "Day after Tomorrow" and OwlGore's idiotic flick had a purpose. Convince you that the seas are going to rise to cover your house and the sky is going to turn orange if we don't do something fast. Americans bought it, and now for the big government payoff. Billions and billions of new dollars flowing into political slush funds to enhance the power and guarantee the elections of political hacks who don't have the talent to run a freaking hardware store.

Guess who has joined the global warming movement? ACORN. Yep, your friendly community organizers and voter fraud organization has decided to throw its efforts into the global warming movement. This is according to the World Watch Institute:

Brian Kettenring, ACORN's deputy director of national operations, said his group - the largest grassroots community organization of low- and moderate- income people in the United States - was inspired to join the Climate Equity Alliance and work with groups such as the Sierra Club after seeing the vulnerability of cities such as New Orleans to rising sea levels and more intense climatic events. The group, which lobbies for affordable housing and improved education in urban areas, is also encouraged by the hope of "green jobs," environmentally sustainable employment opportunities.

"ACORN families understand that building a green economy that's sustainable and builds jobs for working families is good for them, good for the environment, and good for communities," Kettenring said.

ACORN's contribution will include direct lobbying of Congress. In the long term, Kettenring expects more ACORN chapters to become involved in green jobs initiatives, such as efforts to collect federal funding for weatherizing urban buildings.

Now where in there do you see any concern for the environment? None. It's not about that. It is about gaining power for your segment of the population. More specifically, it's about gaining some control over the government's use of power. That's all that this global warming movement is about ... it is a fraud and a scheme created to empower people who would otherwise be selling Che Guevara t-shirts at a street fair.

FOR THE GLOBAL WARMING CROWD

It's possible that we have linked to this story before .. but it has been a while since we have picked on the global warming crowd. I'm sorry, the climate change crowd. Notice that now that the world is actually getting cooler, "climate change" is the appropriate phrase.

Here's something to consider .....

A study from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center concluded that solar variation has made an impact on the Earth's climate. In other words, evidence shows that climate changes based on solar radiation can be traced back to the Industrial Revolution.

Right now, according to climatologist Robery Cahalan, we are between major ice ages ... a period called the Holocene. Another solar scientist by the name of Thomas Woods says, "The fluctuations in the solar cycle impacts Earth's global temperature by about 0.1 degree Celsius, slightly hotter during solar maximum and cooler during solar minimum. The sun is currently at its minimum, and the next solar maximum is expected in 2012."

So there you go .. when the Earth starts to warm in 2012, blame it on your SUVs and evil carbon footprints. But just remember that NASA believes the sun's radiation may have more to do with climate change than your cute little hybrid and reusable grocery bags.

You do know that in spite of all the leftist alarmism, the earth has been cooling for the past eight or so years, don't you? Well ... read this story. There's a graph in the story which shows solar activity decreasing for ... guess what? ... The last eight years. Somehow the anti-capitalist environmentalist moonbats don't seem to believe that decreasing or increasing solar activity can have anything to do with the temperatures on earth.

THE CAP-AND-TRADE SCAM

By

The Democrats are working out the details of a massive wealth redistribution bill, all in the name of climate change. This is the liberal nirvana. You take a naturally recurring climatological phenomena and use scare tactics to stampede the great unwashed into supporting your tax and spend schemes. The looter's plan to limit greenhouse gases are not in the name of sound environmental science but in the name of more government. The Democrats want to use something known as "cap-and-trade" to lower naturally occurring emissions by 17% by 2020 and 83% by 2050.

The looters know that this is going to be expensive. So in order to offset the soaring energy costs associated with this plan ... which we will get to in a minute ... they want to create a system where the government would issue pollution allowances. These permits would then be traded in a government-designed marketplace.

Besides this artificial market, created entirely by government for government, cap-and-trade promises to cripple our economy. The Heritage Foundation has done an analysis of how this Waxman-Markey bill would affect our economy by 2035. Now 2035 might sound like a long way off .. but a child you have today will only be around 26 years ago and just starting to raise a family when that time comes. Here are their findings. Waxman's "environmental" bill would:

  • Reduce aggregate gross domestic product (GDP) by $9.6 trillion
  • Destroy 1,105,000 jobs on average, with peak years seeing unemployment rise by over 2,479,000 jobs
  • Raise electricity rates 90 percent after adjusting for inflation
  • Raise inflation-adjusted gasoline prices by 74 percent
  • Raise residential natural gas prices by 55 percent
  • Raise an average family's annual energy bill by $1,500
  • Increase inflation-adjusted federal debt by 26 percent, or $29,150 additional federal debt per person, again after adjusting for inflation.

I will guarantee you, folks, that the government already has plans to make sure that low-income Americans will not pay a dime in increased energy costs. This will be just another notch on the entitlement belt.

Speaking of scams .. don't let the government fool you into thinking that ethanol is going to solve all of our problems either. Not only is it worse for our environment but it is going to cost you money. When that ragtag band of tired socialists and communists ran for the hills with the fall of the Soviet Union they immediately started looking for a new vehicle they could use for their anti-capitalist agenda. They found it. The environment. And they're so glad that you're so easily conned.

LIBERTARIAN THOUGHTS ON REASON.COM

The Reason Foundation is a Libertarian think tank.  This bit from Jon Basil Utley.  Don't read it if you still think Obama hung the moon:

It's only a matter of time before President Barack Obama's vast popularity runs aground on his energy policies. In the name of saving the planet from global warming, he has delayed new oil drilling, an action that will have major political repercussions once the world economy recovers. Instead of using some [of] the stimulus billions to produce more gas and oil, Obama's wild-eyed supporters dream of "renewable" energy derived from corn, wind, sunshine, and even grass.

With the appointment of extremists like climate czar Carol Browner and science adviser John Holdren, Obama has placed his administration's environmental policy in the hands of radicals. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar proposes replacing oil and coal with windmills. Yet Barron's recently reported that America would need to build 500,000 giant offshore windmills and transmission lines to produce Salazar's specified 1,900 gigawatts of electricity. In contrast, oil and gas drilling could provide hundreds of thousands of solid, well-paying blue-collar jobs. . . .

All of these things are happening at a time when natural gas is abundant and cheap. The new technology of horizontal fraccing has made it economically feasible to drill into vast shale deposits in many states, even famously difficult ones like Michigan and New York. Many cars could run on natural gas, much like many buses do already. On a recent trip to Peru, I learned that most taxicabs have been converted to natural gas for a cost of about $1,000 each. New technologies continually revive old oil and gas fields and make new ones economically viable. So it's little more than socialist Malthusianism to argue that the world is running out of cheap energy. Science will always find and harness new sources.

IT'S EARTH DAY

Are you as pumped as I am? About Earth Day, that is. This is like Christmas Day to OwlGore. Princess Pelosi wants to make sure that this time next year, America is celebrating the expansion of our imperial federal government. But don't worry ...it will all be in the name of climate change!

Barack Obama and the Democrats are determined to make people more dependent on the government. This is how they retain power. I've been telling you this was on the way for ten years .. and here we are. There really isn't enough bandwidth to cover all of the grand government expansion plans the Democrats have right now. One, of course, is government healthcare. Another is creating a massive government system to regulate climate change. With "global warming" legislation comes the promise of new welfare programs. After all, it is a proven fact that climate change legislation is going to increase the cost of energy in this country. But this isn't a concern to Democrats for two reasons. One .. because ignorant voters will continue to vote for them based on the fact that they brought real change to our government and are trying to prevent the world from a total meltdown! The other is because the Democrats will create entitlement programs to ensure that the poor, poor pitiful poor and the parasite (Democrat) class do not see any energy cost increases.

Pretty clever, huh? But Nancy and her minions are determined to pass climate change legislation this year.

Meanwhile, our government schools are ensuring that we are raising a generation completely brainwashed into believing in this man-made global warming hoax. A new survey shows that one out of every three American children between the ages of six and 11 fear that our planet will not exist when they grow up. Guess who is the most anxious about an Al Gore-scripted apocalypse? Minority children. 75% of black children and 65% of Hispanic children believe that the earth will be "irrevocably damaged" by the time they are adults. Your government at work.

I guess South Carolina's James Clyburn is right ... global warming does seem to affect minorities more than whites.

OBAMA'S PLAN TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING

Did you know that global warming has gotten so bad that our government wants to implement radical technologies in order to cool the Earth before we all disintegrate? Seriously, folks. This is the message coming from Obama's new science adviser John Holdren. He said that they are discussing the idea of geoengineering.

One option on the table includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere in order to reflect the rays of the run. Another is to create artificial trees that would suck up carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and store it.

The problem with all of these plans: they are expensive. And where would the government get the money to fund such schemes? Why the taxpayers, of course! But Holdren says that "We don't have the luxury of taking any approach off the table."

I don't believe Obama is really ignorant enough to believe this man-made global warming nonsense. His motives are purely political.

Okay, folks. We have our predictions for this year's hurricane season from a Colorado State University forecast team. They predict that we are going to have six hurricanes this year. Only six? But I thought that all of this global warming was supposed to cause multiple catastrophic events like Katrina?

We'll keep you informed as to how global warming will affect a hurricane near you. In the meantime, enjoy the colder-than-usual weather.

Did you hear about the United Nation's latest plans on climate change? A UN document distributed to a major environmental assembly envisions, "a huge reordering of the world economy, likely involving trillions of dollars in wealth transfer, millions of job losses and gains, new taxes, industrial relocations, new tariffs and subsidies, and complicated payments for greenhouse gas abatement schemes and carbon taxes -- all under the supervision of the world body."

This shouldn't come as a surprise to you. I've been telling you for years that the purpose of this global warming movement is to redistribute wealth around the world. And who better to be in charge of that task than the United Nations.

Don't listen though. Global warming is real, right? That's why the earth has been cooling for eight years.

HOW GOVERNMENT TACKLES GLOBAL WARMING

California is really making headway on its plans to completely scare away anyone worth more than a food stamp. And when it comes to global warming, regulation and legislation is based on mindless pandering, rather than sound science. So here is the government's latest idea: make it illegal to sell black cars in California. Seriously. This is what passes for serious thinking on the left coast.

The idea is part of a new "cool paints" initiative which is run by the California Air Resources Board. The board wants to "mandate the phase-in of heat-reflecting paints on vehicle exteriors beginning with the '12 model year, with all colors meeting a 20% reflectivity requirement by the '16 model year."

What does that mean? The government wants to regulate fuel economy by producing lighter color cars. How does this work? Because lighter cars stay cooler on sunny days and don't use as much air conditioning. And if you are a good global warmer, you know how damaging AC units can be to the environment.

And since 17 other states generally follow California's lead when it comes to global warming regulations, this could mean that 40% of vehicles sold in this country could be impacted by the proposal.

Just in case it's too small to read, the bottom text there is California Highway Patrol.

THE LATEST ON GLOBAL WARMING

The EPA wants to make sure that it has its way with businesses and development .. all in the name of global warming. The agency has proposed to the White House that global warming is endangering the public's health and welfare. So what does that mean? Find a way to regulate it!

You might be thinking "big deal, Boortz." Well it is a big deal. And it could eventually come back to bite us. Remember what I always tell you about the law of unintended consequences? Considering global warming as a danger of public health will lead to the establishment of national limits of global warming pollution. And any business knows that this spells disaster.

Bill Kovacs, of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, explains, "By moving forward with the endangerment finding on greenhouse gases, EPA is putting in motion a set of decisions that may have far-reaching unintended consequences ... Specifically, once the finding is made, no matter how limited, some environmental groups will sue to make sure it is applied to all aspects of the Clean Air Act ... This will mean that all infrastructure projects, including those under the president's stimulus initiative, will be subject to environmental review for greenhouse gases. Since not one of the projects has been subjected to that review, it is possible that the projects under the stimulus initiative will cease. This will be devastating to the economy."

Always keep in mind that the environmental movement was essentially hijacked by communists and socialists after the fall of the Soviet Union.

FORCING THE CAR MARKET

Yesterday Barack Obama decided that he wanted to throw more money at another problem. So he unveiled his plan to spend $2.4 billion for electric vehicle development. The plan also gives a $7,500 tax credit to people who buy plug-in hybrid vehicles.

So what's the problem? The problem is that there isn't a market for these vehicles. As of right now, hybrid cars only represent 2% of US vehicle sales, and it is deeply unprofitable for car companies. Just wait until the people buying those hybrids (and I have one myself) have to replace the batteries. You're going to hear howls of outrage then. My guess? The government will come in with some taxpayer-funded program to help people replace batteries in their hybrids. What fun.

In short .. Obama wants to give them money anyway to make cars that people don't want to buy. According to the LA Times:

Last month, only 15,144 hybrids sold nationwide, down almost two-thirds from April, when the segment's sales peaked and gas averaged $3.57 a gallon. That's far larger than the drop in industry sales for the period and scarcely a better showing than January, when hybrid sales were at their lowest since early 2005.

Yet automakers believe they have little choice but to make more hybrids. Though car buyers are losing interest, politicians are pushing them as key to reducing U.S. dependence on foreign oil and limiting the global-warming gases that cars emit into the atmosphere.

Did you know that the auto parts industry is also getting a bailout? Just another $5 billion of your tax dollars. No matter what happens to the recipient car company, the money will be paid. The payment of new bailout money to auto parts manufacturers is your sure sign that more bailout money is on its way to GM and others. BOHICA

TODAY'S GUEST

Today on the show we are going to talk to the Lord Monckton. He's from Great Britain, and he is internationally renowned for his critical view of global warming. He publicly challenged OwlGore to an open debate on climate change, and can you guess the response? OwlGore ignored him. Go figure. Because when you are trying to defend something that know cannot be scientifically proven you don't want to get into a debate with someone like Lord Monckton. So we are going to have him on the show today at 10:35 EDT.

What do I call him? Lord? Well, anyway ... the Lord is coming to the Neal Boortz show in the first hours of syndication.

And speaking of global warming. One of our favorite global warming moonbats is at it again. Do you remember James Hansen of NASA's Goddard Institute? He's the one that has been called an embarrassment to NASA for his blind belief in this global warming hoax. Anyway, Hansen has his boxers in a bunch because the democratic process isn't working fast enough to appease his global warmers. He says that corporate lobbying has undermined democratic attempts to curb carbon pollution. Hansen says, "The democratic process is supposed to be one person one vote, but it turns out that money is talking louder than the votes. So, I'm not surprised that people are getting frustrated. I think that peaceful demonstration is not out of order, because we're running out of time."

If you missed our little chat with Lord Monckton, we're going to put it in next week's Boortz Blast newsletter. If you don't already get it, sign up here.

I've been telling you this for years, folks. This whole global warming scam is nothing more than a front for wealth distribution and anti-capitalist activism. Democrats have come up with a great way to do accomplish those goals .. carbon credits. Charge companies and/or people for their carbon output and then let the government use that money to redistribute as it likes.

Now, thanks to California Senator Barbara Boxer, we have a clearer picture of what that could mean very soon. Boxer released a letter detailing the basic principles that will be included into this absurd global warming legislation. Plans are for Congress to take this on soon. We are talking weeks, not months. Democrats know they need to move on this while a substantial portion of the American people still buy this man-made global warming nonsense. Some people actually think this is a crisis, and you need to remember that the Obama Administration believes that no crisis should be allowed to go to waste. So now let's all take a look at these principles for global warming legislation:

1. Reduce emissions to levels guided by science to avoid dangerous global warming. (The science, of course, will come from government-paid scientists who know that their funding depends on continued global warming alarmism.)

2. Set short and long term emissions targets that are certain and enforceable, with periodic review of the climate science and adjustments to targets and policies as necessary to meet emissions reduction targets.

3. Ensure that state and local entities continue pioneering efforts to address global warming.

4. Establish a transparent and accountable market-based system that efficiently reduces carbon emissions. (No .. establish a system that efficiently redistributes wealth and weakens capitalism.)

5. Use revenues from the carbon market to:

- Keep consumers whole as our nation transitions to clean energy;

- Invest in clean energy technologies and energy efficiency measures;

- Assist states, localities and tribes in addressing and adapting to global warming impacts;

- Assist workers, businesses and communities, including manufacturing states, in the transition to a clean energy economy;

- Support efforts to conserve wildlife and natural systems threatened by global warming; and

-Work with the international community, including faith leaders, to provide support to developing nations in responding and adapting to global warming. In addition to other benefits, these actions will help avoid the threats to international stability and national security posed by global warming.

6. Ensure a level global playing field, by providing incentives for emission reductions and effective deterrents so that countries contribute their fair share to the international effort to combat global warming.

Oh yeah ... just had to include that "fair share" phrase in there. A real favorite for Democrats. It means nothing, but the great unwashed really like it.

I hope that you noticed three particular parts of this letter. First of all, the fact that revenues from this government-created carbon market will go towards protecting species that are threatened by global warming. Why do you think the environmentalists were so insistent on declaring polar bears a threatened species due to global warming, even while their numbers are increasing? That would be because now they will have a steady source of income in which to fuel their efforts! Also, this government-created carbon market will be used to aid other countries. Here we go with the wealth redistribution - carbon revenues from companies in the United States would be collected and redistributed to "provide support" to developing nations. And if #6 on this list doesn't convince you .. then you don't know your head from a hole in the ground.

We need an emergency measure right now to forbid burning wood in fireplaces and wood-burning stoves. Burning wood contributes to global warming, you know.

PEBO'S SOCIALIST ROOTS SHOWING?

By
Neal Boortz
@ January 12, 2009 8:57 AM

How long have I been telling you that this who global warming scam was basically an anti-capitalist campaign? I'll answer that for you. Years.

When global socialism collapsed in the late 1980s and the Communist Soviet Union failed the world was filled with desperate socialists and anti-capitalists looking for a new base of operations. They found this new base in the environmental movement. They saw environmentalism as a way to attack capitalism rather than a way to act responsibly for cleaner air and water and reasonable environmental regulations. So environmental movements suddenly became flooded with rejected socialists and communists happy to find a moral base upon which to build their case against free enterprise. The founder of Greenpeace once remarked of his surprise at suddenly finding his headquarters populated by people wearing Mao hats and berets with cute little red stars.

Enter Barack Obama. We made quite the big deal of Obama's self-professed intrigue with socialism and communism during the campaign. It didn't seem to matter to the voters all that much. Maybe you'll give that a second thought now that Obama has made his choice for a global warming czar --- and in this case "czar" is exactly the right word.

Her name is Carol Browner, and she was the EPA head under Clinton. More evidence, if you're looking for it, that this will be the third Clinton term. Since leaving the White House eight years ago became one of the leaders of a socialist group called the "Commission for a Sustainable World Society." Browner's name and bio was featured on the web page for Socialist International. It mysteriously disappeared last week. They did forget to remove a picture of her making a speech to the Socialist International World Congress last June ... along with such luminaries as the speaker of the Russian Legislatures upper chamber, the vice minister of the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee, and a former minister of employment and social affairs of the Spanish Socialist Worker's Worker's Party.

Browner's confirmation does not need to be approved by the Senate.

So now we have someone who seems to be strongly connected to the socialist movement running our global warming response. Nice.

This is going to be upsetting news to many of you out there. Global sea ice levels are now equal to those recorded 29 years ago. This is according to the University of Illinois's Arctic Climate Research Center. Why only since 1979? Because that was the first year we started recording this data. But for you people out there howling over the melting sea ice and the endangered polar bears .. now what? Sea ice is at the same level as almost 30 years ago. The number of polar bears is increasing. Back in May, the United States officially put polar bears on the threatened species list. And do you know why? Because of "concerns over disappearing sea ice." You mean the same sea ice that is at the same level it was 30 years ago? Is it starting to dawn on you? This global warming craze is a scam. The goal here is to hamstring capitalism, transfer wealth, and empower government. There is absolutely no reason for polar bears to be a threatened species, especially because of global warming. But, since they're cute and all that, there they are on the list.

Oh and just so you know, sea ice doesn't affect ocean levels. So if you are concerned that all of this sea ice is going to melt and we are going to have those apocalyptic rising oceans - as promised by Owl Gore - Get over it. Try this little experiment. Put water and ice into a bowl. Make sure that the water is right up to the brim of the bowl. When the ice melts the water will not rise and overflow the bowl. Don't get a government-funded scientist to do this for you. He will somehow come up with a different result, so do it yourself.

By the way .. for those of you who were convinced that the North Pole was going to be one big swimming pool by the end of 2008, congratulations on making to 2009 where I am glad to report that Arctic ice saw a substantial recovery last year.

You've heard me talk about James Hansen of the Goddard Institute .. this is one of Al Gore's global warming sock puppets. James decided that he wanted to write a personal letter to Barack and Michelle Obama with his suggestions on how we can save the planet from this phony global warming crisis. He outlines three ideas for the Obama's. One of them I can agree with: the need for nuclear power. The other idea is one that Barack Obama has already said he would do .. bankrupt the coal industry. Hansen refers to coal-fired power stations as "factories of death." Isn't that pleasant? But he wants a moratorium and phase out of these "death factories."

But my favorite suggestion is to enact a tax on carbon emissions. But not just any tax .. a tax that would take money from the evil rich and give the proceeds to the less fortunate. Don't ya just love that phrase? Here's the basic gist .. Hansen wants a carbon tax and 100% dividend. Carbon would be taxed at the source -- aka. those people who produce more would pay more .. we are assuming the evil rich are in this category. But then the revenue from this tax would be equally distributed among all tax payers. So the "less fortunate" who don't produce as much carbon would be making money from the exploits of the evil rich. Sounds like wealth redistribution to me!

Here's a little taste of Hansen's letter, but you can read the whole thing here.

The public will support the tax if it is returned to them, equal shares on a per capita basis (half shares for children up to a maximum of two child-shares per family), deposited monthly in bank accounts. No large bureaucracy is needed. A person reducing his carbon footprint more than average makes money. A person with large cars and a big house will pay a tax much higher than the dividend. Not one cent goes to Washington. No lobbyists will be supported. Unlike cap-and-trade, no millionaires would be made at the expense of the public....

A carbon tax is honest, clear and effective. It will increase energy prices, but low and middle income people, especially, will find ways to reduce carbon emissions so as to come out ahead.

Sooner or later ... hopefully sooner ... we're going to put this idea of man-made global warming to rest. In the meantime, enjoy this record-breaking cold winter.

UN PUSHING GLOBAL WARMING SCAM EVEN HARDER

By
Neal Boortz

It's been a while since we have agitated all you global warmers out there. In case you all didn't know, the UN is having a little climate conference in Poland right now. And an Associated Press report from Poland says, "Scientists studying the changing nature of the Earth's climate say they have completed one crucial task -- proving beyond a doubt that global warming is real. Now they have to figure out just what to do about it."

Aren't you thrilled? The UN has figured it out! The debate is over! And right now more than 10,000 UN delegates and environmentalists are sitting in Poland and working out the kinks of their plans to cap greenhouse emissions around the world. They are itching at the chance to make the evil rich countries pay up.

Let's look at the weather map. It snowed yesterday in Houston, Texas. The temperature in Siberia was around 80 degrees below zero. Southern California is headed for record low temperatures with snow in some LA suburbs. The Earth hasn't warmed a bit in the last eight years. In fact, it has been cooling slightly. The ocean waters off California are cooling. In the midst of all of this the United Nations is now telling us that it has been absolutely proven that man is causing global warming and that we must act right now to stop it or 30% of all plant and animal life on earth will perish.

Lawrence E. Buja is a climate change researcher from Boulder, Colorado. He says, "The skeptics are doing a good job because they are making us present ironclad proof." Ok .. what proof? Please show me the direct link between human activity and global warming. Please explain to me how a recent study showing that the sun was responsible for half of the warming in the recent decades is incorrect. Please tell me how the world can be warming when 2008 is set to be the coolest year of the decade. Please tell me why the Antarctic ice caps are actually growing.

Proven? Proven how? With computer models. Not with actual scientific testing and fact, but with models ... computer models programmed by humans with or without biases who can insert or leave out data as they see fit.

Then that leads me to this ... a US Senate Minority Report is about to be released. It contains testimony from over 650 scientists (note that they are all scientists and not just ENVIRONMENTALISTS) who are criticizing the man-made climate claims of this UN conference.

But it won't really matter. According to the powers that be, the debate is closed. But just remember that it isn't based on the science, it is based on a need to redistribute the wealth throughout the world - make the richer nations pay for their evil emissions.

Why go through all this trouble? Because if the UN can convince the world that man (more specifically, Americans) are endangering the rest of the world then the UN can embark on a program of weakening the American economy - and us - while strengthening the third world at our expense. This about control and power, it is not about saving the Earth. There was a reason that the Kyoto Treaty left out nations like China while punishing the economies of the United States. This whole scam may not really be on your radio screen right now ... but the time is coming when you will really need to pay some close attention.

Yup ... it looks like some scientists are going to launch a bit of an attack on this UN global warming conference underway in Poland. Read the story for details ... but I do want to include some of the quotes from these scientists here in the Nuze. Enjoy:

  • "I am a skeptic...Global warming has become a new religion." - Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever.

  • Warming fears are the "worst scientific scandal in the history...When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists." - UN IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh, an award-winning PhD environmental physical chemist.

  • "The models and forecasts of the UN IPCC "are incorrect because they only are based on mathematical models and presented results at scenarios that do not include, for example, solar activity." - Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera, a researcher at the Institute of Geophysics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico

  •
  • "It is a blatant lie put forth in the media that makes it seem there is only a fringe of scientists who don't buy into anthropogenic global warming." - U.S Government Atmospheric Scientist Stanley B. Goldenberg of the Hurricane Research Division of NOAA.

  • "Even doubling or tripling the amount of carbon dioxide will virtually have little impact, as water vapour and water condensed on particles as clouds dominate the worldwide scene and always will." - . Geoffrey G. Duffy, a professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering of the Universityof Auckland, NZ.

  • "After reading [UN IPCC chairman] Pachauri's asinine comment [comparing skeptics to] Flat Earthers, it's hard to remain quiet." - Climate statistician Dr. William M. Briggs, who specializes in the statistics of forecast evaluation, serves on the American Meteorological Society's Probability and Statistics Committee and is an Associate Editor of Monthly Weather Review.

  • "For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming? For how many years must cooling go on?" - Geologist Dr. David Gee the chairman of the science committee of the 2008 International Geological Congress who has authored 130 plus peer reviewed papers, and is currently at Uppsala University in Sweden.

  • "Gore prompted me to start delving into the science again and I quickly found myself solidly in the skeptic camp...Climate models can at best be useful for explaining climate changes after the fact." - Meteorologist Hajo Smit of Holland, who reversed his belief in man-made warming to become a skeptic, is a former member of the Dutch UN IPCC committee.

There are many more quotes in the story ... give it a read.

If global warming is real, then can someone tell me why the oceans are getting cooler? Yup .. been getting cooler for a while now. In fact, the ocean temperatures off the coast of California are at a 20 year low. Not 2 year ... 20 year.

Oh, you can bet the global warming crowd has some excuse. Cyclical, they say. Odd, isn't it, that the ocean temperatures can be cyclical, but global temperatures cannot. When the oceans warm or cool it is all part of some cycle. When the earth warms or cools man did it with his SUVs and coal-fired power plants.

Someday most of you will understand that this whole man-made global warming scare has been ginned up by anti-capitalist moonbats whose real desire is to cripple capitalism.

Now we have a nice nasty little internal Democrat tinkling contest in the Congress. Rep. John Dingell of Michigan is currently the chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee. But that may no longer be the case. The Democrats want a more aggressive global warming agenda. They want to save the planet ... and John Dingell may put up too much of a fight. When I say "fight" I mean that he won't necessarily be Barack Obama's grocery bagger when it comes to global warming policy.

So who do the Democrats want as their guy? Henry Waxman of Beverley Hills. He's generally an anti-business kinda guy. He's the head of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform; Waxman is the guy in change of government investigations on everything from oil company profits to steroid use in baseball.

Where the battle gets interesting is the fact that Dingell is from Michigan and has made it difficult for the government to impose stricter fuel standards on automakers. Meanwhile, Waxman is a fan of tough environmental regulations and an overhaul of the auto industry. Does this auto-union bailout have anything to do with this vote?

Either way, a committee secret ballot of 25-22 recommended that Waxman be the new chair of the energy committee. The entire House still has to vote on whether or not they want to accept that recommendation ... but I think the message is clear. Barack Obama has made promises on key issues: healthcare reform and climate change. We'll get to healthcare in a minute, but having Waxman as the chair of this committee would be one less minor bump to deal with ... it would be a sign from Congress that they are eager to work with Obama in passing climate change legislation.
