On Tuesday, October 6th, I will be hosting the GLA (Georgia Limousine Association) Charity Golf Classic at Eagle's Landing Country Club. This tournament is sponsored by AirTran Airlines and will benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. We will have great prizes and auction items and breakfast, lunch and steak dinner will be provided. You can become a sponsor or register to play at glacharityclassic.com. Come out and help me support a wonderful organization that helps thousands of children every year.

Belinda and Kenny

This morning many of you delivered a perfectly health young child to a school somewhere. Today you will pick that child up with only some additional damage to his or her psyche caused by government "educators."

This morning some parents will take their child to the Aflac Cancer Center at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. While your child is (hopefully) learning, their child will be fighting for his life battling cancer.

The Boortz show will be there - at the Aflac Cancer Center - broadcasting today, as we were yesterday. Can you listen and click on this link to donate a few bucks for childhood cancer research and treatment? How about $25 for each health child you took to her school today?

Thanks.

Yes .. it will be the same Boortz show, but with a bit of a twist. For the ninth year in a row we are doing our WSB Care-a-Thon today and tomorrow at the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. I know times may well be a bit rough for you right now ... but times may be a bit rougher for parents whose children are suffering from childhood cancer. Trust me --- every dollar helps. My goal here today is not to try to encourage a few people to donate large sums of money. I want to see as many of my listeners as possible just donate something ... $25. $10. Can you spare just $25 for every health child in your household? The cost of a lunch. Just something. Just get out a credit card and click on this link. The money will be well spent on providing care for these special little children, and on research to fight childhood cancer. Thanks.

Also, in the 10am hour ET, we'll be auctioning off the painting Steve Penley did for the Atlanta Tea Party poster earlier this year.

Remember this awesome painting that was created for the Tea Party poster earlier this year?

The artist, Steve Penley, has given us the original painting to auction off for this year's Care-a-Thon! The painting auction will take place in the 10am ET hour of the show on Thursday, August 27th. So make sure you're listening then if you want to bid. Or you can just make a donation to the little bald headed kids online here

Ride for a cause with hundreds of motorcyclists at the 2009 Ride for Kids on Sunday, June 7 from it's NEW location...Six Flags Over Georgia (275 Riverside Pkwy Austell, GA 30168). The goal is to raise money for research into pediatric brain tumors, which are the deadliest type of childhood cancer.

Registration starts at 8 am and closes at 10:15 am. Ride leaves at 10:30 am. sharp, rain or shine. Minimum donation is $35.00 per motorcycle. Proceeds of the event benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation's medical research grants and family support programs. For additional information, visit www.rideforkids.org/atlanta, www.pbtfus.org on the web or contact the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation at 800-253-6530.

This weekend volunteers from Alpha Team K9 Search and Rescue located the body of a missing murder suspect in Georgia. They do their amazing work at no charge. Hey look, they are a nonprofit. I'm sure they could use a few bucks to continue their work.

OMG! B-B-B-B-BUT THAT'S A WHITE DISEASE!

Carleton University is in Ottawa, Canada. At Carleton the students participate in the annul Shinearama fundraiser. This is an annual fundraising event involving students from 65 colleges and universities across Canada. Carleton has been involved for 25 of the 50 years of the Shinearama; but no longer.

The Shinearama, you see, has been raising money for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. That's not good, at least insofar as the Carleton University Student's Association is concerned. The student association was told that Cystic Fibrosis only affects white people. This meant that the disease was not inclusive enough. So ... Carleton University is out. Now these bright students have figured out that Cystic Fibrosis actually affects some people of color - and they're looking for a way to get out of this mess.

If they hadn't been so politically correct they wouldn't be there in the first place. Idiots.

The slumping economy has taken its toll on troop support and donation programs. According to MOM 4R MARINES founder Patty Lewis, the number of  donations  and packages being sent to the troops has fallen to an all-time low, while the number of homesick Marines and sailors  hoping to receive a package is at an all-time high, especially while deployed in the cold mountains of Afghanistan over the holidays. We must send them our support! Please help make this happen for a group of 1500 wonderful, fearless warriors living without any normal amenities. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN! NOW! THE TIME IS NOW! While they can use your donations year round, donate before December 7th to make your funds available for this year's holiday shipment. How to donate.

THIS MUCH MONEY TO PLAY GOLF WITH ME?

Well, I think this was a good trade. The folks at the Ritz Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation got to auction off a round of golf with me for charity ... and my family gots to stay at the Ritz over Thanksgiving. We want to thank Rhonda and Steven and the incredible staff at the Ritz Lodge for an amazing weekend. The "Lighting of the Lodge" on Wednesday night was spectacular (see pictures on link) ... but why anyone would ever want to play over $800 to see my horrible golf game I'll just never understand. Can we wait until it's a little warmer before we tee it up?
